Red Wings D Carlo Colaiacovo hurt shoulder during Spengler Cup. Expected 2-3 weeks, but Wings will know more after they've looked at him.

If it was two weeks starting in Spengler, he'd be good in a week.

Probably just hurt himself when he saw the lockout was going to end...

He slipped, dislocated his shoulder when standing on slippery bathroom floor whilst brushing his teeth

We're being reminded of this brilliant signing BEFORE the season even starts.

Couldn't get this out of the way three months ago, Carlo? Sigh.

Smith and Kindl should see more playing time to start the season then. Kindl, especially, could benefit from it and he deserves his shot. Hope he runs with it.

Kindl benefits big time...CC was supposed to be a third pair guy. Smith is going to do big work for the Wings this year.

With or without CC, I still don't see who is going to actually play defense on this roster. I see a lot of "puck movers", but no shot blockers or PKers or crease clearers.

Let's hope they put some kind of gimmick rule in place that makes defense obsolete...

Should just buyout CCs contract now... Injury plagued players do not want.

What's the problem in here? Everybody wanted Kindl to play and now it's happening.

Kindl flourishes this season, solidifies his place as the #5-6 D.

Does this open up a spot for Lashoff? I don't think he's a long term answer but he could be a good fit given we lack any depth and he should be able to contribute at ES and on the PK.

Not seeing the name Colaiacovoon a Wings jersey for a few more weeks gives us more time to pretend we aren't mediocre.
