Well said. Aside from politicians, he probably the only public figure who I actually, actively hate. If I were in the media I'd run an endless smear campaign against him, if only to interrupt or marginally disrupt his life until his eventual descent into madness.
What a crook.
Enter the "you jealous brah?" comments.
Bettman is the commissioner of a billion dollar business. He does what he does and he does it well. The hate for him is mind boggling.
we could have surprises with a short season, a wnning streak at some point and we could be in the pictures for the PO.
Same for good teams, a bad start and you could be out quickly
Of course.
It's in the long-term interest of this hockey club to not make the playoffs this season though. I'm not saying to throw the season, I'm just saying I won't be mad if we get another top pick.

at this point, win or lose I think fans will just be happy to have Habs hockey
if anything, a short season is perfect for a team wanting to rebuild, fans dont have to suck it for 6 long months of losing or anything

It's good both ways IMO. We lose and we'd prob get better pick than we would've with the lottery and if we win then we win. Win-win situation and with only half a season there isn't major torment if we do badly.

if the canadiens finish 9th or 10th, what kind of player would be available in the draft?

He has more locked out or cancelled games than all three other comissioners combined, Atlanta just moved and three other teams are at risk of moving within two years, the Preds and the Stars both had criminal owners and one of them is in jail, the Yotes ARE OWNED BY THE NHL, TV ratings are in the gutter and have been for years and... THERE WAS A LOCKOUT SEVEN YEARS AFTER THE LAST LOCKOUT.
He's doing an awful job by any metric.

LOCKOUT'S OVER, THE PLAYERS DIDNT GET TOO SCREWED OVER... TIME FOR DIRTYDUDE
Forgot to mention. I had a lockout beard going. Was getting pretty jungle like. Sheared it off today along with all my hair. Going with my Ed Norton look for start of training camp

Norton in AMX I'm assuming. Maybe you should get that tattoo altered.
Correct, I believe they only removed the "moving up by 4 spots max" limitation.
Yeah. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I think I would have rathered them up the 'move up' limit to 8 ranks or so. Look at where LA finished last year. Would be pretty rough to see a team like that get a #1 overall pick.
Would also like to reiterate how happy it makes me that a team can offer a pending ufa/rfa 1 year more than any other team. Can't believe players are already *****ing about it.
