If you want that Belfour card bad enough, there's someone else on eBay selling 100 of them for $13.

Yeah, but it is kinda cool to have it slabbed. Definetely a reason to pay a little more for it even if it's KSA. It feels and looks much cooler on the shelf.

I bought a house about 15 years ago, and found a bunch of boxes in the shed, In one of the boxes I found about 500 hockey cards from mid 70's to early 80s some great ones like gretzky rookie record breakers and Bourque rookie record breakers. Also some really rare (I think) like a whole set of Kelloggs cards from around 77-78 I have no idea what these are worth but I plan on storing them for many years before I find out enough to sell them. They are all in boxes and dry and as far as I can tell in great shape.

Take a look at ebay sales since what it sounds like your collection is consisting of cards that regularly sells there.

How much do Crosby "Young Guns" rookie cards go for these days???

I scooped up a graded Crosby Upper Deck "Young Guns" rookie card today at my local card and collectible shop today for about $400.

It's graded an 8.5 by KSA. Good deal or no?

Probably overspent a bit for an 8.5. There are some just as good or better for ~$300 on ebay.

It's all good.

The only reason I had bought the card was because I had a store credit in the collectibles store that I wanted to get rid of. And since they had no framed and signed pictures that I wanted or signed pucks, I didn't know what else to use it on.

Then I saw the Crosby Young Guns rookie card behind the counter and thought "hey, this'll be the only time I will justify myself paying this amount of money for a single card and I've always wanted a Crosby rookie...so why not use my credit??"

Had that have been me walking in there with $400 cash, I would never spend that much of my hard earned cash on a card y'know? For the amount of money people foolishly pay for today's top-end cards, I'd much rather use that money on framed and autographed pictures for my wall or a few autographed pucks instead. Which is what I've been doing.

Know what I mean?

How does KSA suck??

Forgive my lack of knowledge just I've never bought a graded card except for this one. And I figured buying this graded Crosby rookie was better than buying the raw and ungraded one for $50 less.

Could it be possible that Panini and UD are going to produce the new range of Rookies? Granlund, Tarasenko, Yakupov, Galchenyuk, Huberdeau, etc?!%!%!

I have over 100 000 cards, but not many from the last few years. I think what did me in was buying a tin of "The Cup" for $400 and getting about 50 bucks worth of cards out of it. A guy realizes that the expense of the hobby has surpassed his current level of sanity when that happens.

I do have the world's most extensive Nick Schultz collection, and that is about the only player I collect anymore.

Where can you find a graded Young Guns Crosby card for $250? I'd buy it right now if that were the case. There are a couple going on Ebay for around $200 every now and then, but people are bidding on those and they get pushed up to above $250 before bidding is over anyways. I think $300 is more reasonable. I've been searching for some on Kijiji and craigslist, but never come across any good deals. Found a guy selling an ungraded Stamkos Young Guns card for $40 though.

I'd still love to know why KSA card grading sucks???

Even if I did ovrpay a bit for my Crosby Young Guns rookie, I'm not too worried. Like I said, the only reason I had bought the card was because I had a store credit at my local collectibles store that I wanted to get rid of. And since they had no framed and signed pictures that I wanted or signed pucks, I didn't know what else to use it on. Plus I mean mom n pop collectible places do need to up their prices to make a profit right?

As I said as well, Had that have been me walking in there with $400 cash, I would never spend that much of my hard earned cash on a single card. For the amount of money people foolishly pay for today's top-end cards, I'd much rather use that money on framed and autographed pictures for my wall or a few autographed pucks instead. Which is what I've been doing and would have continued to do today had they had what I wanted.

Regardless of how "prestine" my card may or may not be, I'm happy with my purchase. I've always wanted a Crosby Young Guns card and I had the opportunity to obtain one yesterday with nothing to lose..so I grabbed it.

For some reason, this Ed Belfour card has been one of my favourites.

Minus the signature.
off topic;
my uncle moved ed belfour by plane when he signed to Dallas from San Jose

Question about jersey cards: Are all of them actual, real game-worn jerseys from the player?

They might do like the NBA and wait for the double rookie class next season.

But some are game-worn jerseys, and all of them were worn by the player at some point?

Ah, The Cup... Searching for that Crosby rookie. Plus that tin thing the cards are in always damages the corners. What a waste. I have every other significant Crosby rookie card except that one too. Still annoys me. That was the set that ended my hockey card passion.

Best snipe ever was a Crosby /10 jersey card that I bought for $50, received and then sold within ten minutes for $250 bucks.

Anyone else had similar success?
