Rookie Max. A lot of this is bonuses which he might not hit. They call this the rookie cushion: It's accounted on the cap, but you don't have to care about the bonus money unless the player hits his performance targets. If he does, and the bonus money puts you over the cap, then you are penalized on the next year's cap.

I think.

But I would take Latendresse back anyday, and Kostitsyn-Eller-Kostitsyn would make a SICK 3rd line. Eller and Sergei would of been great on the pk.
Kost broz with Eller could become our #1 line. So upset we wasted having two brothers with undeniable chemistry.

SALARY CAP: $70,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $57,345,833; BONUSES: $2,300,000
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $15,154,167

-Gomez+Kaberle in amnesty buyouts
-Bourque just bought out normally. This provides us room to sign Subban and see what's available in this offseason's UFA market.
-If Galchenyuk is not ready for the NHL after his 9 game tryout, replace him with Gallagher.
-I wanted to keep the payroll down for the 64.3m Cap next season.
Again, the amnesty buyouts are ONLY once 2013-14 begins.

NHL salary is actually only 925k. But, he has 2.3 million in potential bonuses and a 25k signing bonus.

Sorry, once the 2013-14 season begins? or do you mean july first 2013? (call it the start of the fiscal season)

Either way, sign Subban and Moore (he won't be expensive) an the jettison Gomez/kabs/bourque as soon as possible. The buyouts aren't needed until 2013 anyway, we have enough cap space.

I forgot about Emelin but.

I think Gorges drags PK down on the first pairing and Markov would be the perfect complement. A real good mix of puck moving and defensive play on that pair.

Kaberle Gorges

While slowing Pk down he would be a perfect complement to Kaberle because unlike PK, Thomas is a liability defensively. A really good second pauring I think.

The third pair is tougher to decide because I've grown a lot on Diaz as a puck moving D. But Emelin is though to play against and could really be the perfect D to play with Bouillon.

Wild card... Weber.

I'd say

Markov Subban
Kaberle Gorges
Emelin Bouillion

Buyouts are after the upcoming season, and following the next season after that (14-15)

Moore is on a sabbathical I heard, his wife has cancer. Plus some have said that Moore is not well liked by his coaches because he second guesses everything and is a pain in the ass to deal with. But I liked him when he was here.

Yeah, July 1st 2013 (or maybe sooner during the summer). Sorry about the confusion.

Also, Kaberle is the one to buyout via the normal buyout since he'd be on our cap as a dead cap hit for only 2 years if the normal buyout rules remain the same. OTOH Bourque would be on it for 6 (!!!) if we bought him out in summer 2013.

Kaberle has value... Stop underestimate him everyone please. Give him another chance. With a good complement and a good usage he could be an important piece of this team. He has what you can't teach. Talent.

If Moore wants to play this season, I'd gladly take him on our 4th line.

Max Pac - DD - Bourque
Cole - Pleks - Gionta
Prust - Eller - Armstrong
Moen - Gomez- White
Noke

Subban - Gorges
Markov - Diaz
Kaberle - Emelin
Bouillon/Weber

Price
Budaj

2nd/3rd line get all tough match ups/defensive zone start...
1st line used heavy in PP & of zone starts
4th line used 10-12min/game

1st pairing plays 22-25min game
2nd/3rd pairings split remainder

Maybe a playoff team, if price stands on his head & therrien gets strong/quick buy-in

More likely, we miss the playoffs, & with 1-2 injuries to key players, were right back in lottery-land

They didn't play on the same line in Nashville.

Exactly. If the chemistry is so undeniable, how come a great coach like Trotz didn't see it? And how come he didn't try it seeing as how they struggled to score in the playoffs?

to start the year

Patches - DD - Cole
Bourque - Pleky - Giant
Leblanc - Eller - Armstrong
Prust - White - Moen

gorges - PK
Emelin - Markov
Kaberle - Diaz

Price
Budaj

Leblanc could be outplayed by gally, gallagher, anyone, but he is who i am guessing is grabbing the job. I'd like Gally to take over for bourque to take a top 6, bumping bourque down to the third and move louie back to the A, but who knows.

this is just my opening night guess

Attitude problem, actually the best of this group.
Grade-A ***** who won't fight anyone.
Trying to stay in the league. Fat & Fragile. Never the same after he ended DiMaio's career. Lacked killer instinct afterwards?

I do remember, and boy, am I happy they are gone.
I don't think Sergei really has attitude problem.

I don't remember him having attitude problem in London, Hamilton or Nashville. Just because he has some difference with Martin doesn't mean he has attitude problem.

Does Price have attitude problem too? Remember when he was he was out of shape, taunting a fan, drinking and smoking? Or PK? The guy that has numerous "fights" with his own teammates?

Didnt AK and SK played with Lang for some games and they did indeed have good chemistry?

If Gally gets a 9 game tryout, I hope it's on Plekanecs wing.

Galchenyuk-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Bourque
Moen-Eller-Gionta
Prust-White-Armstrong

Markov-Subban
Kaberle-Gorges
Emelin-Diaz

Price
Budaj

Sit Gomez in the pressbox.

Why do people in Montreal always want to make players play at their not natural position. For once we have a big talented center, make him play where he is supposed to play.

I don't care that we have too many C, none has the potential of this guy. Move/trade other players and even lose games in the short term if you have to for additional development. It is not like we are going to be contenders this year anyway. We could be even better served if the team tanked one more year.

Please don't ruin another player in Montreal.

He's not even playing center in junior. Let him start off on the wing, what's the harm in that?

ahh, hockey is back in montreal.

The way I see it, this lockout is a perfect scenario for the kid. He gets to tryout for the team 1 week AFTER winning gold in the wj.

but really, about the tendency to ''ruin'' kids, top 3 picks don't just get ruined because they play wing. Certainly not on a 9 game tryout. I've read that even Gally himself admits he's more of a scoring threat on the wing. (per hickey or stubbs on twitter).

This whole ''we ruin hockey prospects'' is getting old. It's a stigma at this point. Turn the page, look forward, not backwards.

With this thinking, we could have the next Crosby or Lemieux and still cry if he makes the club at 18.

Let's see how he performs than we can speculate what should be best. If you turn out to be right, than you can pull your Pierre ''said it all along'' McGuire.

Yes they did, and yes they could of had awesome chemistry with Eller who already connected with Andrei. Trotz is brutal when it comes to handling superstars who have strong personnalities.
