These Luongo threads have been agonizing, and now they're going to be even more agonizing...I can only imagine how bad its going to be when Luongo is with the team for the rest of this season. Stop the madness.
I'm pretty sure (positive) we'd have to give up a wee bit more; maybe we throw in Corrado (from TO) and we get a second or third back from them.
I know Corrado was picked in the fifth but I'm sure his stock a risen fairly significantly since then.
Oh man you're going to get torn apart. TO actually has a good prospect they themselves drafted they won't give him up for anything short of a 19 yr old clone of Gretzky or Bobby Orr.

Bozak
Kulemin
Franson
Conolly
For
Luongo
Raymond
Lets take it down a notch Chief.
As for your proposal...That would be a definite "NO, thank you" and a facepalm.
Yeah I don't understand this, and I agree with the highlighted comment completely.
Honestly I love Bobby Mac he is great, but I think aside from having sources and knowing what is going on with Rumours and stuff.
He really doesn't know much about our team.
Burrows isn't being talked about as a 2C possibility like he said, Lappierre is perfectly capable of being the 3rd line guy until Kes returns, and he didn't even mention Jordan Schroeder who is probably the most likely candidate to fill Kesler's spot till he returns, and possibly for the 3rd Line spot too.
Not sure what Bob is talking about.
I've noticed over the yrs, your right, Mckenzie knows very little about Canucks. Prob has something to do with Gillis not making himself available to those guys.
The weak d-core thing is total garbage. Give me another team in the NHL whose 3rd pairing can play any minutes. Name any other NHL team whose 4th line can play the type of mins Canucks can. There aren't any (other than maybe SJS). TSN panel is def out to lunch.
I doubt the Canucks will get more than that tbh. Maybe a mid round pick instead of Conolly, this talk of Gardiner/Reiley/Lupul/3 1st rounders is a pipe dream at best.
But Reilly isn't going to save Burkes job anytime soon.
Luongo getting them into the playoffs for two or three seasons will give him the time he so desperately needs.
He's got to eventually realize that his achilles heel has been that he has never drafted or traded for a quality goaltender. He once had a decent goalie in Irbe but let let him walk because he wasn't into small goalies.... Irbe represented the East in the following seasons All Star game.

That may be true, but loading our team up with dead weight isn't going to work either.

Kesler would have to be in the offer for the Leafs to do it.
Burke is counting on Rielly to really carry a majority of the on-ice franchise in the future.

No thanks.
Connolly would be bought out, Bozak is a pending UFA, Franson isn't a need and doesn't really have a spot on the team currently, so he isn't all that valuable and Kulemin is a bit better verison of Raymond but will take cap space that we need for Edler (Since we wouldn't just let Kulemin go if we got him)
& not really anything to help out the cupboard, so no thanks.
- 50/50
- Better Pension for PA
- Term limit: 7 years UFA, 8 yrs your own player
- Variance: 35%, and last year of salary has to be 50% of original
- CBA: 10 years, opt out possible after 8 years
- Cap at 64.3m
- 2 compliance buyouts allowed starting end of this year until 2015.

I agree. Gardiner, Lupul, Rielly aren't possibilities.
But getting prospects like Finn, Percy, Colbourne, Ashton, Biggs, Kadri, then early round picks (1-3) Are much more important to us than loading up our team with dead weight and then hand cuffing our chances of signing Edler.

I think Luongo's return from Toronto will be Bozak (2nd/3rd liner), Colbourne/Biggs (Young big forward, may need an AHL season before making the roster), Finn/Percy/Blacker/Franson (Young defenseman/prospects).
I dont' know how you look at that return and call it crap.

If we aren't getting one of their top prospects (Reilly or Gardiner, which I'm fine with) we'd better be getting their 1st rounder.

I'm fine with something like that, I would like Kadri over Colbourne or Biggs myself, and I would take Finn over any of those defensmen you named. So I guess mine would be Kadri, Finn, Bozak. And I would be happy with that, it's not crap it helps us in the future and gives us a potential rental player that would help us right now.

Burke annointed Rielly as a 1st overall caliber player.
He likely won't move him, and honestly we don't need him.
All I know is that there are gonna a lot posters freaking out after the Luongo trade goes down. Realistically there are gonna be fans that are not gonna like the return at all and others that will think it's good and will work out. It's gonna be entertaining.
Some fans are underrating Bozak, he'd be a solid pickup IMO.
hes actually really awful and the leafs losing him would be addition by subtraction
he's barely an nhler and probably wont be in the league in a couple years

If Kadri is on the table, then Finn won't be part of the deal IMO, it be Blacker/Franson most likely.
