It's tough to see a scenario where Jackson stays with the Rams. We won't offer him the "long term" deal that he is wanting and I don't think we'll be competitive quickly enough for him to take what we'll put on the table. Which is fine. I agree with the sentiment that he deserves his chance to win somewhere and will wish him nothing but the best if he does leave. As long as he doesn't go to New England Which I think is probably inevitable!

Anyone think the Rams can win out? Vikings, @Bucs and @Seahawks is who we have left. If we were able to manage it then we would almost certainly be in the playoffs.

Last year was absolutely awful for the Rams. Bradford was hurt, our defensive backs were so depleted with injuries that we were basically taking guys off the street. Nobody is going to win under those circumstances. 2010 was a solid season though. Bradford's rookie season and we were one win away from making the playoffs. I think this team has a good enough core to be a playoff team. We need to learn how to close out a ball game though. The first game of the season against Detroit should've been ours, as should the first Niners game. Jackson has been a big part of the offense this year, but I don't think losing him will hurt too much. I'm very excited about the Rams future. We should have two mid first rounders this year too. Adding two solid players to the organization, or using those picks to move up in the draft to select a player they are very high on could really push this team to being a contender.

As for this season, I don't see the Rams winning out. We have a good chance to beat the Vikings if we can contain Peterson, and we have a decent shot at winning in Tampa, but I don't think we will beat Seattle on the road.

Not sure there is going to be a huge market for SJ. There arent a ton of RBs like him, but 30 is 30 for running backs. I think we will get something done.

Green Bay seems like a perfect fit.

Jackson is really one of the best running backs of all-time. Imagine his numbers if he would of played for a winning team or even just a .500 team during his prime. Ridiculous. He'll still become just the 6th player in history to record 8 straight 1000 yard seasons, and could break the 10,000 yard mark this Sunday. Will be sad to see him leave St.Louis, but I wish him the best in whichever path he chooses.

I was just looking at ESPN's MLB free agent tracker to see if Lohse has signed anywhere yet (which he has not), and noticed that Berkman (36) is only 2 years older than Ryan Ludwick (34). My mind is blown.

My perception was probably skewed by the fact that Berkman had been killing the cardinals for what seemed like an eternity while it took Ludwick a lot longer to hit the bigs...

Anybody else here a big time mizzou basketball fan that is excited to see this team play in the SEC portion of the schedule? Can't wait to see this team play against the SEC they are really coming together and I love what Jabari Brown brings to this team as a true talent as a scorer/shooter on the wing really helps the flow of the game on the offense end.

Very much so. The player that actually intrigues me most is Alex Oriakhi.

I think Mizzou will be top 3 in the SEC with Kentucky and Florida. Could very well be both the Big XII Champ and SEC Champ in a 2 year time period. Not something you often see happen.

On the Rams front, it may be blind hope but I really am starting to think that Steven Jackson returns to the Rams next year. Very much looking forward to a seeing a starting defense that does not include Craig Dahl in the secondary.

The only thing that will hold Mizzou back is Pressey's decision making.

Yeah, he definitely has a tendency to throw passes away in bunches. Still, hes probably the most important player to this team. He definitely makes this offense go, and his passing ability is still some of the best in the NCAA.

I agree he worries me often. And also his shot selection can be very questionable at times. Today Mizzou signed Keanau Post a 7 foot center from JUCO southwestern Illinois. They are building a very strong recruiting class.

2013 Class (as of now):
John Williams III PF (Top 40 overall prospect)
Wesley Clark PG (Top 85)
Torren Jones PF (intriguing 3 star prospect)
Keanau Post C (7 foot JUCO)

This team is gonna continue to be very big and strong inside.

It hurt losing Mike Anderson, but Haith seems to be able to recruit with the best of them.

And we already have Anton Beard, a 4 star PG for 2014. We definitely have a solid foundation and could have some very good years ahead.

Throw Jordan Clarkson in with that group and mizzou is easily close to as good of a team as this years squad. (Assuming Pressey is back)

If SLU plays Mizzou who do you guys root for?

Personally I'd go Billikens. Seen more games there and just feel closer to that team.

Id probably cheer for Slu, but Mizzou would likely dismantle them.

SLU finished a nine game home stand tonight with a victory over UMass in their A-10 opener. SLU finished the nine game homestand with a record of 9-0.

Huge game against Temple coming up.

I go to SLU so the Bills, even though I wouldn't like SLU's chances at all. I still think it'd be a fun game for the fans if they did it.

I wish they would, but every year Mizzou says no.

No doubt, and with the way sports are now, it will be a long time before anyone even comes close!

RIP Stan.
