16 straight! Holy ****! Is this the longest winning streak by any pro LA sports team since the 1999-2000 Lakers when they won 19 straight? I remember the Dodgers won something like 13 straight back in the late 2000s. What was the Kings' longest winning streak? 9 in 2009-10?

Lakers won 33 straight in the 71-72 season. Clippers have a looooong way to go.
I call that a sign of insecurity of Laker fans. I didn't even say anything like "suck on that Laker fans!" or something of that nature.
And unless that "8" is a typo, the Kings did win 9 straight in 2009-10.
Right? I saw some post this morning, it showed Clippers celebrating and said 16 wins in a row. Then it showed the Lakers holding the trophy and it said 16 championships.
I don't get it, that's really funny to me. It's not like Clippers fans don't realize this stuff. But to Lakers fans it's like they aren't allowed to be happy about their team doing well. "It has to be, hahaha we are always still better then you ahahaha" Honestly I haven't heard a whole lot of Clippers fans talking smack, they're just happy the team is actually good this year.
I heard a guy at the bar the other night with the same sentiment, he was just ranting on how the Clippers and their fans were so "Cute" that they were celebrating their success.
Bro, shut up. They can celebrate. Hard to think that after 16 championships a fan could still be insecure about the other team in Los Angeles. I mean, even if the Clippers win 3 years in a row they will always be talked about 2nd in the Los Angeles basketball realm.
Congrats to all long suffering Clipper fans. You guys have waited a very very very very very long time to have a winner and here's to hoping you can keep it up.
Me, its basketball so I have zero interest but I do appreciate watching an LA team come together and do really well.
I don't know what the **** is wrong with Griffin. It's funny how his numbers have regressed since Paul was acquired. Sure. he's had better teammates now that some of the scoring will be taken away from him. He has worked on his jumper and it has improved a bit, but his post moves are still piss-poor. DJ has better post moves and he worked with Hakeem this past summer. Blake should do the same. Clips also need a wing player that can score consistently. PG-PF combo is an extinct recipe nowadays. This has always been a shooting guard/small forward driven league. Back-to-back losses...this is a huge concern for a team with this caliber.
BTW, tonight's Warrior crowd was awesome. They've always been loud. Why can't Staples Center crowds be as loud consistently as other arenas? I know Kings fans were super loud during the Cup run, but the stakes have to be so high in order to be loud. Do you think the arena design of Staples plays a key role to the crowd noise (or lack thereof)? Some arenas are just loud period without forcing anything. But you can't say the same about Staples.

No because half the crown is there just to be seen. The women and many men in the first 20 rows are looking at their cell phones most of the game.
Clippers lost two in a row and the Lakers coming off another embarrassing home loss. As good a time as any to be playing them but the Clippers will still win easily I'm afraid.

I have been a Laker fan for 45 years (yeah I know, what can I say? I came to age at 9 years old ), and even I am astonished how delusional Laker fans can be.
This Laker team is going NOWHERE. Period. Anyone who has observed basketball for any length of time can see that as much talent as they do have, its old, its slow, and it doesn't play well together. Add the fact that Kobe is still jacking up ill-advised shots at the most inopportune times and you have a recipe for disaster. They have lost to the most mundane teams this season, including barely beating a very bad Charlotte team by one lousy point.
Add to that you have far superior teams in the West in the Clippers, OKC, Memphis, San Antonio, and Golden State, and that even such teams at this point as Houston, Denver, Minnesota, Portland, and Utah have better records than the Lakers 31 games into the season, and anyone can see the Lakers have their work cut out for them just to make the playoffs.
The Lakers currently place 11th in the WC, 3 spots out of a playoff spot. Now, I do believe they will improve to the point at getting into the playoffs, but its going to be a first round exit to any of the five superior teams in the West I noted above.
Did I mention that this team doesn't (or won't, or CAN'T) play defense? Uh, minor sticking point there.
Three teams play in Staples. One is a defending league champion, another is a championship contender, and the third is a team that is 3 games under .500 after 33 games played in the season.
If I told you that the losing team was the Lakers and you didn't know any better, you would have me committed.
But that's the way it is. Go Kings and Go Clippers, and to the Lakers, just go.
