He's kickin a** right now on NHL13 on a line with Bouchard and Setoguchi, so that must be real right?

I think what he's shown since being drafted is a high end NHL calibre wrist shot that he's not afraid to use. Honestly he's been more of a goal scorer than I expected, and that's nice because he's not a one-dimensional guy who's easy to shut down. Just needs to stay healthy.

That's really nice to hear. When he came to the SM-liiga, he didn't really possess a shot that I'd call dangerous at all. Being such a smart player he corrected that very quickly and the next season he played, we'd see a wicked wrister from him at times. He didn't use it often enough, tho, it's amazing to hear that he takes advantage of it a bit more nowadays. Maybe a smaller ice surface forced him to do that.

Seemed like last year he started using it more, and quite a bit this year too.

This is what pisses me off. Mittens is the kind of player Finland has produced for many years. Good overall player who can't put the puck in the net. This is the biggest weakness that separates us form the elite on international level.

I'm happy that the new breed is coming strong and has potential to play in NHL in top 2 lines like Granlund, Armia, TT, Barkov

Teräväinen looks actually really well, as he did last season in SM Liiga.

Armia shines from time to time and at least he has some scoring ability which has lacked greatly in Finland apart from Teemu.

Hell yes! The lockout's over. Now just get him up in the NHL, im so excited. Hope he delivers.. Has he been that good after the injury, thought? I hope he gets it going now!

Armia has huge potentional. He only has getzlaf-problem. If he actually starts trying, he will be in the NHL. Right now, it looks like he has been kidding whole hes career this far. In WJC he started to play (bit too late thought) and it was great to watch. Great back checking, even big hits, good battles in the boards.. And those skills, dat shot. His high risk / high reward if you will.

He's been improving game after game, and for example is on a four game point streak.

So did he show us enough that we are comfortable starting him at center on the 2nd line? Point per game through 21 games is pretty darn good for a rookie.

What are we thinking for his production this year? I'm thinking 8ish goals and 25ish assists if he plays all 48-50 games.

I will be happy with .5 ppg and a plus player.

Same here, especially if he has Cullen and Seto as his linemates.

That being said, if he finds chemistry with them (and why shouldn't he?), then he might just slip into 10+30 range. Cullen reminds me of Ville Peltonen, who he played with in HIFK and Setoguchi is a faster Kimmo Kuhta.

I think he gets near .6 PPG because he can play PP with Parise, Heatley and Koivu..he would rack up a ton of assists

I personally think that the injury he suffered really hurted his point per game-ratio... He's able to score at ~1,25ppg pace.

Oh, and in the NHL?

48gp 9+19=28pts. He needs some time to adjust.

I have a feeling Granlund will turn out to be an oft-injured player who will average playing in only 85% of the games each season. So for this shortened season, I'd say 7 goals and 16 assists in 42 games.

Assuming 48 games in the top six with PP time, I'll say around 15g+25a for 40 pts. Give or take. He's friggin 21 years old.

So you think in a full season..his Rookie season. He scores 30 goals?? That may be pushing it..assist wise you may not be far off but he won't score that many in his rookie year IMO.

Goals are tricky. You could score 15 as easily as 25 depending on the bounces. I think he's a better goal scorer than he gets credit for and is more than ready to play in the NHL at a very high level.

Am I the only one who wants to see Granlund play together with Heatley?
