Based on the number of London jackets I saw at the Steelheads vs Sudbury game today, looks like you London speculators may be getting a dog or a fish!!

I heard today that London was talking trade with Kitchener. Gibson for Bailey, Pawley and Platzer. Don't shoot the messenger but that is just what is out there.
Also on a seperate note not related but Mark Hunter said that most teams are in the market of players in return and not so much 2nd round picks right now.

LOL, if that's all it will take, then every team in the league should be lining up at Kitchener's door. Who comes up with this stuff? Not shooting the messenger, but an OA goalie and 2 4th liners for the best goalie in the league? And no picks? No wonder everyone thinks we Knights fans are a bit delusional.

Who told you that the mailman? Did you think of asking the person where he heard this from?

lets just say it was someone that knows what the owners are doing. I am sure it should take picks involved but I did not hear anything about picks. Did not say I agree with the trade but it is what I heard so give it a rest about being Knights fans being delusional. If I heard it was for Domi, Horvat or whatever the non-Knight fans think Gibson is worth for a 1/2 year rental I would have posted it. I personally do not want Gibson at all. I would rather have a deal for Trochek, and their Paterson in net for whatever it would cost.

I like the Leivo idea and think he would be a good fit. As for Gibson, if this was the year and next year the Knights were rebuilding then absolutely! But Paterson is the better option based on the Knights 2 year plans!

If you have a chance to get Gibson at a decent price, you do it. Also acquiring a Trochek provides sniper insurance in case something happens to Griffith.
May I remind you of the year that the Knights made relatively no moves because they had Kane and Gagne and thought 'next year is our year'. We went on to lose to Plymouth that year, and like that, they were gone that offseason. (sidenote: I still find it amazingly funny that Kane the next year played the first preseason game, scored four goals and got an assist (5points) and at the end of the preseason he still was the leading point getter)
All it takes is for a team to draft Horvat and/or Domi and put them in their lineup because they stink. Combine that with some overage bad luck and nobody comes back. This could happen.
Wildcard factor: we have Mark Hunter. Lets worry about next year, next year. If we have no goalies going into next year, Hunter will get one, relax.
If you really want to be serious about making a run this year, you need to keep up with the Jones'. And Halifax just acquired MacAuley from St John who is an overage shotblocking penalty killing specialist who also has 20 something goals. Sounds like they just acquired their 'Austin Watson".

I was upset they did t add for the 04 run as well. Prolly more so than kane/gagner year. Guelph added Jansen and Klien and beat us in 7, aagghh lol

When you have a legit shot u go for it. I'm still convinced we need Gibson but if mark feels we do ( or that a Plymouth type team is after him and its a difference maker) hell go after it. And either drive the price high or snag him.

My Proposed trade

Trochoek (Centers a second line between Tierney and Anderson)
Paterson (Great goalie playing with a mediocre team and forms a Jake Pat. tandem)

for

Baille (Nobody wants and OA goalie going the poorer team so Liberti's in to offset him)
Liberati (Could develop better in a Top 4 and get more PP time in Saginaw)
Pawley/Jammes (small, but both are considered risk/reward and project players)
Welychka (great player who plays in all situation (PP, PK) and could maybe become a second liner, very valuable)
Two 2nd rounders (Add more value and for the future)

That is the value that we are going to have to give up to get Trochoek and Paterson. I am not a softy when it comes to trades, You have to give up value to get value, especially when we could be competing with Sarnia for the services of Trochoek. Note: not really sure we need Garret Ross so I didn't involve him because it would cost us more as well.

That brings us back to the trade deadline. The Knights have two solid goaltenders but right now, they are splitting duties. The Knights believe they can win another OHL title but can they do it by goalie by committee? Are they convinced they can win by going with either one exclusively?

One of the rumours that came with the Rangers to London Saturday involved Rangers’ goaltender Gibson. He was a star for the gold-medal winning Americans at the world junior and there is a hint the Rangers might deal him.

Good luck trying to pry any information out of Knights’ general manager Mark Hunter. He’ll put up the cone of silence. - London Free Press
So I didn't even believe any rumours about John Gibson till now. However we would have to pay a hefty price for him.

Another kid they may have looked at too is Dylan Smoskowitz ... He was electric up there when London played at Missy....a 93 who has really started to light it up. (40 goal kid)

One of our rivals (attack) adds Garvus, Janes and Ceci today. Does this change any of your thoughts on wanting/needing to add Gibson or others?

Apparently the Knights have lured another player from the college ranks
Free agent goaltender Anthony Stolarz a 94 born free agent goalie drafted by the flyers is heading to London
I can tell all for certain the Spits tried to get him prior to the season and were hoping the Kings were going to draft him
When Philly drafted him things changed
A great steal by the Knights if true

Latest move by Knights might mean Herbst headed to Ottawa as part of a deal for Monahan
Patterson and Stolarz by next season will give the Knights the best 1-2 punch for goalies in the OHL

Looks like it is true.

OMAHA, Neb. – University of Nebraska Omaha head hockey coach Dean Blais announced today that freshman goaltender Anthony Stolarz has chosen to leave the program and is expected to sign with the London (Ontario) Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.

Knights pluck anotehr player from their minor league system known as the NCAA!

Wow. Makes Herbst expendable in a trade now. Hunter does it again!

Stoalie has turned his game around since his first few games. He seems to have outplayed his senior lately at college but the coach is going back to the other guy. Must of been what pushed him.

As a Flyers fan, Im hoping he obviously outbeats Patterson

I do not know much about Stolarz but would that tandem be better than Dansk and Williams?
