They'll give it to G, but they should give to Kimmo or Hartsy

Closer than anyone else has gotten in the 23 years prior...

Richie was the man on the ice. Giroux is a more talented player but Mike Richards was no slouch.

Giroux and Richards aren't really comparable. I still like Richards a ton but G is on another level. I'd rather Briere/Kimmo have it for a year or two and then pass it onto Giroux.

Kimmo should get the C. He'll be done in 2-3 years and then he can pass it on to Giroux. I'm pretty sure everyone knows Claude will be here for awhile. It's going to be his team for the better part of the next decade.

Hartnell's behaviour is too erratic for him to wear the C. If it's given to Kimmo or Briere it'll only have to be given to someone else within a season or two. Might as well just give it to Giroux now.

he wasnt really given a fair chance. So in 3 years if G goes to the finals and we lose its ok to trade him away?

Neither did any Flyers captain not named Bobby Clarke. Guess they were all useless losers too...

On the topic at hand, I'd love to see Kimmo get the C until he retires in a year or two. Then take stock and maybe name Giroux at that time.

Giroux was just on WIP and the call got axe'd after they asked him about Bryz. Totally awkward, They danced around what Giroux's response was. Eitherway i found it hilarious that Giroux got him self kicked off the air haha.

Anyone know what he was saying? Maybe the radio version didnt cut it out?

Updated: He said S hit. and when they hit the button the FCC automatically kills the call. Damn i was hoping for something more.

Are you sure they just didn't lose connection with him?

This is ridiculous, he came very close in 2010 and got it done last year. Add that to the Gold Medal and all the other things he's won.

Let's be serious here...he...didn't get it done. It was a team effort, and I'd pick 5-6 guys over him as reasons the Kings won. Its not like he carried the Kings....he gets to be a 2nd line center there, and not "the man" like he was here.

Plus he was on the 4th line for Canada's Olympic medal.

Yeah, but Canada's 4th line is a whole different story. I think that was Canada's best line, actually.

They all played similar ice time.
