Good article about our new head coach! Breaks down everything he has done in his career, and his first comments about joining the team.

He's got an impressive resume, I'm just happy it's not Biello.

In the article he said that he watched some of our games last year, I wonder what he thinks of Arnau lol.

He sounds like a cultivated fellow. Oozes class.

I have a very good first impression from him.

He does have an impressive resume, only sticking point for me is that except for his stint at Young Boys, he never stuck around with a team for more than a year. Signs of things to come?

Good thing he'll be able to communicate with most of the team in everybody's native languages, that's always a plus. We'll have to see what he brings to the table technically though.

And how the hell do you pronounce his name?

Great resume, speaks many languages and knows the European game. Seems like a great hiring. Hopefully, NDS lets him work...

So he speaks English, German, and French! Nice.

Any idea if he speaks Italian as well? It is a minor language in Switzerland

As already mentioned in this thread, it doesn't look like the impact will sign a DP any time soon, according to NDS they don't see it necessary at this point, they'll wait until end of season in europe and evaluate the club position then make a decision.

Yup. Expect a repeat of the DI Vaio timetable: rumors throughout spring, unveiling mid May to mid June, and first game when the transfer window opens.

Schällibaum is an emotional coach, most of the players liked him, but not everyone accepted his decisions. Still a good coach imho.

And you pronounce it like this: Shaeleebaoom.

Thanks for the tip. Did he bring in a lot of players or was he a coach more than a manager?

It's interesting that he's Felipe's ex coach. Should gain brownie points to keep Felipe from leaving if he has another great season.

I'm happy the Impact finally chose the new coach but what bad timing!!!! They announce the new coach the day after the end of the lock out in the NHL
The news is swallowed by the Canadiens once again. Only true soccer fans took notice . I think there is PC tomorrow I hope a journalist will ask him which system he plans to do?

In Bern he was a coach. In Switzerland the coaches can help to decide about transfers, but have not the same impact as in England.

At least in Switzerland he didn't.

Looks like a good signing to me. I like the fact that he seems like a good teacher.
