Interesting thing added to the CBA..

Teams now retain the rights of drafted europeans for 4 years instead of the 2 years.

Wonder if we start taking more european players in he earlier rounds now

I think you would be more likely to see more Europeans drafted in the later rounds than anything as those guys are usually developmental guys. I immediately thought of Larsson when I saw that, but I don't know if it applies to guys recently drafted or not.

Not official yet, but Anthony Stolarz is leaving U of Nebraska-Omaha and is expected to sign with the London Knights of the OHL. (As per Mike Ashmore - @mashmore98)

Stolarz Leaves Nebraska-Omaha for London Knights

Nebraska-Omaha freshman goalie Anthony Stolarz, a second round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers last year, has decided to leave school, and it is expected that he will sign with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.
Stolarz put up a modest first half at Nebraska-Omaha, appearing in eight games for the Mavericks with a 2-5-0 record, 2.56 GAA and a .898 save percentage. Senior John Faulkner has occupied about two-thirds of the playing time in the UNO net this year. Though Faulkner's stats weren't that much different from Stolarz, UNO has won significantly more with Faulkner in net. Nebraska-Omaha head coach Dean Blais released a statement saying he was "disappointed" by Stolarz's decision.

Finally. Never understood, from a hockey perspective, why he jumped right into college in the first place. Probably would have been best served going to the USHL first if he wanted to go the college route. London does have a pretty good goalie in Patterson already though and he must be signed at the end of next season.

I actually like this a lot. He will see a lot of games next season (since I guess their current goalie is good)

Yep, it's true

OMAHA, Neb. – University of Nebraska Omaha head hockey coach Dean Blais announced today that freshman goaltender Anthony Stolarz has chosen to leave the program and is expected to sign with the London (Ontario) Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.

They have two guys splitting time and both have a .920+ save percentage- a 17 year old and an overager. Someone has to get moved.

Liam Herbst will be moved more than likely and Kevin Bailie will move on after this season

He'll likely be starting immediately - their goalie tandem is iffy at best.

Patterson is 18, same age as Stoalie. The overage guy Im guessing would be gone.

My bad. Knew he was eligible for the draft, but didn't realize he was a 94.

since when is having a .920+ save% considered iffy? unless I'm missing something....

Perhaps you're missing actually watching games rather than scoresheets? Bailie is a great kid, but has bounced around the league and has played pretty well after a not so stellar junior career thus far. Hebst is an unproven entity and Patterson has been shaky. I highly doubt Dale & Co. will be confident going into playoffs with Bailie alone.

I think Bailie is moved and so is Herbst. Hopefully one of the trades brings back a good skater. Gimme Monahan

I think they let Patterson and Stolarz battle for the starting job going into the playoffs and go with the better one for the playoffs

Part of me would have liked to have seen Stolarz go to a team where he could be the unquestioned number 1 and not play behind Maatta, Harrington, and Zadorov.

don't really care about junior hockey so no I haven't seen them play. they must be doing something right to have a save%, that high

I see Harrington and Maatta moving to the AHL after this season. I'm not sure if Maatta can yet but he will move up as soon as he can.
