So Connaughton or Corrado could see the big league this year if Garrison doesn't work out on the right?

I think the addition of Garrison is really underrated.

He's someone that will play our game really well and add another stable dman to our blueline. Far better fit long term than Erhrhoff would have been.

I watched very few Florida games last year so the only thing I have is media and fan reports leading up to free agency. And I've been around the block enough times to wade through the hype.

But if the reports are true, a top 4, shut down D man with some offensive skill is the exact piece we needed on our back end.

I consider it a good thing I was high on Garrison when he was underrated.

I already like the guy because he stayed injury free throughout last year's playoffs. Suck it Ehrhoff.

Well according to Gillis, we always have Ballard as a backup *shudder* Most likely we'll sign one more RS defenseman. Connaughton will be the first injury callup while Corrado isn't eligible to play in the AHL yet.

Garrison is marching in the Pride parade with Fin and Manny. Looks like Gillis got another good character guy on the team.

Does Garrison live in Whiterock year-round? (Offseason when he was with Panthers?)

I agree but unless he can play centre, this team better add more pieces. Otherwise the Garrison signing won't mean squat.

I hear Tim Thomas was flying in to protest it.

Did Booth reject his invitation?

excited to see how garrison plays on defense alongside edler. shutdown capabilties and showing some of his offensive side. 16 goals last yr for him in florida was a coming out party for him.

There is a slight difference though. Booth and Ballard are offensive players, Garrison is a defensive player with a great shot.

I wouldn't be shocked if Garrison's offensive production dipped compared to last season, but I think he'll be quite solid defensively.

Yep. Not expecting those types of points, but am expecting that level of D play.

to me he is a young sammy salo more speed and toughness and less of the injuries

he can play tough like alberts but has more speed and smarts.

to me he brings a better mix in the top 4 than we have had for awhile

Edler,Garrison
Bieksa,hamhuis....either pairing can flip between our top pairing and our second pairing...

will be up to the remaining dmen to fight and secure a spot.....

with the possibilty of adding a dman at the deadline(although that may be tough due to every team in the playoff hunt)

hope so.
but that's a tall order. When healthy, Salo was arguably our best D. Certainly the most underrated.
