Read an excellent tweet yesterday. Something along the lines of:
It took Bill Wirtz death to get the Blackhawks to move forward in the right direction. It will take Jacobs dying for the NHL to do so.
Really wish DNC didn't have the Sox concession deal.

It's very true. I lived there for three years and while there's a lot of things I loved about it, the lack of a city/urban area was hard to get used to. There isn't much to do in downtown Phoenix, though it's gotten a little better over the years. A lot of the entertainment areas/districts are in surrounding cities. It was definitely a different experience living out there but I liked it, overall. If I was a native sports fan I'd hate my life, though. Whole metro area is transplants from other cities and regions of the country and continent for that matter. If you're a native you actually feel like you're outnumbered and in the minority. Everyone there maintains loyalties to their hometown teams and when certain cities are in town, regardless of sport, they can outnumber your own fans.

So now that hockey is back, we can get this going again. I believe this is the season we finally see the Wangs miss the playoffs.

Great career. The guy who really made screening the goalie a thing. One less guy that needs to be cleared out of the crease.
One more retirement that helps one of my favorite cries, "The Wings' dynasty is over!"
Maybe this time it'll actually end.

No he is not. His agent said something to the effect of they want him healthy for the next 10 years, not the next 2 months.

Just realized Raffi Torres is going to miss a huge chunk of the season now. Almost half the season.
