I would just sign Gilroy or Campoli now and not give up any more assets.
For the people that minimize the 2nd round pick we gave up keep in mind that Trottier, Tonelli, Palffy, Hrudey, McCabe and Hamonic were all second round picks and Chara and Nystrom were early 3rd round picks. You never know when you'll strike gold there so you don't squander them. You never have enough good prospects.
Maybe Bettman will give us a couple extra balls in the draft lottery. Jones would erase this from my memory real quick. Then again, if Snow doesn't do anything about our d that might be where we end up anyways.

Gilroy is barely a defensemen. He's terrible. Campoli asked to be traded when he was here, I doubt he would come back now. Even if he did, he's terrible as well. Also, keep in mind his roll in these CBA talks. He was one of the hardliners. I can't see him getting a job after this.

That's nonsense. He may suck, and have a bad history with the Isles, but the negotiations have nothing to do with anything.
He could be surprisingly good with us. I don't want to give up anything of value for him though.
Well that's just not gonna work then. He's still a very serviceable defenseman that is just misused by Alain Vigneault (whom the fans have hated for a while now because of stuff like that). The fit is good - tremendous value would not have to come back, but some value definitely would.

I agree with you to a extent, however I wouldn't be surprised if there were atleast a few owners that wouldn't touch him anymore. Not all obviously, but some.
How can the Isles do anything to replace Visnovsky without taking it up the rear? Snow is pretty stubborn, he won't put up with that whether good or bad.
Take a long walk off a short pier, Lubomir. We get that you say you want to stick with your family, but all the hemming and hawing, I can't expect myself or anyone else in Islander Country to believe anything from your wishy-washy mouth. You could have retired and given proximity to home as the reason, but instead you pulled this, Karpovtsev part two. We should just retire #11 so we don't have to watch anymore lame ponces decide it's a fine number to not show up to wear. (Rolston, not Kasparaitis.)

Seth Jones, welcome to Long Island.
It really was a great trade for everyone. Wang saves money with cap hit/salary difference, Snow smartly uses his assets by trading a 2nd for a need now knowing how deep the pool is and the team gains a dman who specializes in an area of need (puck moving).

Lubo just has to be an ass about it.
Agreed with everything here, but I still want to see something pursued here - it would be a sign of weakness to not at least drum up the question of getting out pick back considering the wat Visnovsky decided to do this.

It really was a good trade. It was almost too good to be true...
Unreal. Paints us in a bad light (what else is new?), but this wasn't our fault. Too bad all the trolls will come out and play over this. Jan. 19 can't come soon enough.
Just saw that tweet. That is in some way justice. But doesn't help us unless he decides to play. If he comes over, it's just wasting everyone's time. He will probably pull a "Rolston".

I'm waiting to hear more, I don't think the Isles gave him permission and given the agreement in place I think the higher KHL powers step in and tell him to go.

I don't think so. Rolston really did slow down beforehand. I think higher of Lubo 'as a player'.

Trade his ass. I have no interest in seeing him in an Islanders jersey now. I'd rather have the damned pick back.
