That is different for sure Libbs. It has me concerned as a Knights fan I get the vibe they arent done yet either and any further moves may be big ones.

Maybe Rychel is starting to figure out that not everything hes thinking has to be passed onto the media.

The intent of my comment had nothing to do with a possible trade of Koko but rather with the possible trade of assets that would be missed such as Vail or Sieloff. Certainly I agree that him (Koko) being traded would not be seen as a negative to the selection committee.

Koko won't be back next year but would be eligible to return. However if the Bruins sent him back here instead of Providence he would probably be as disinterested as he was in the two or three weeks before his injury last year.

Hmmm....That would coincide with the arrival of Koko back from Russia. Just asked if he had signed a card yet and was told that would be difficult as he's in a diff country.

Assuming Maletta's package (all, or in name only) went with him, I believe we have two gold packages open - and no first rounder to have to save one for.

Kerby Rychel, Nick Ebert, Ben Johnson, Adam Bateman and Josh Ho-Sang all have gold packages. IIRC Marchese's stayed in Erie. Webermin and Malettas went with them.

Assuming the Ice Dogs assumed the package or designation re the Malette trade it

is 2 unless Seiloff got 1 then it stands at 1

I am pretty sure Seiloff got 4 years for 2 years played paid just not the gold pkg

On the OHL website, Aleardi's name is on the Spit's roster but Koko's isn't. Is this anything to be concerned about? Something brewing, or something falling through?

Koko is more than likely still en route from Russia. It will probably be made official tomorrow or Wednesday.

On the Spit's site roster page - Koko's pic and profile has already been added.

(Aleardi is there as well, though getting the Trojanovic silhouette image for the time being)

Others can explain it much better, but the basics are each team has seven gold education packages to have on their team at any one time. A Gold Package goes to any first rounder, but teams can give them to anybody else they so choose (keeping under the seven at any one time limit). The rest of the players will have a lesser education package - usually a one year for one season played, and a lesser distance to school from their home town. Gold packages are full rides anywhere and is basically done to be able to lure elite kids away from the NCAA route.

When the player signs a pro contract, the gold package is voided and their OHL team then gets it back to use elsewhere.

Koko's press conference at the WFCU Centre has been pushed back to Wednesday afternoon. Do not read anything bad into this, Spits fans, it's simply a matter of travel logistics and the guy wanting/needing an extra day to rest up.

Wolves finally found a trade partner where the players they were getting didn't have no trade clauses?

Supposedly Maletta was dealt to Sudbury but blocked a deal as well.

Thanks for the explanation on the gold package stuff Otto.

Can we get an explanation on the card system? Or a resource to read up on it?

Rumour I've found is:

Jeff Hicks ‏@HicksJD

Frank for Franky? Hear Coraddo due south. Palazzese due north. Leivo to leavo for Aud. Schmalz and one more fed to Wolves.
