Perhaps that is misleading, but so is not considering Kesler a part of our group despite his injury. Unless Bozak is a throw-in I'm not really keen on him being a part of the trade. I'm willing to give Schroeder a go.

As well as lockout updates and the Peter Forsberg signing back in the day. Sucks at everything else though.

All the usual insiders were giving Eklund credit for breaking something recently, I forget what it was but i was surprised.

Couple more reads:

From Florida reporter (guy who's had all the Lu info):
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/f...,7813167.story

From Canucks blogger:
http://canucksarmy.com/2013/1/7/stro...f-do-we-do-now
Gillis comments yesterday on whether trading Lu was a 'priority' -
Quote:
It's the priority for a number of other teams, so it'll become a priority for us. We'll have to wait and see what comes our way now that we can begin discussing specific things with teams. It's probably a new landscape now with a new CBA, so it's unfair of me to comment right now..."

Did Eklund really say that he has heard Boston is the only other Eastern team interested in Luongo? Did hell freeze over or something? lol

What's his batting average with Flyer rumours? .030?

That's being generous but that apparently makes him an insider now

Eklund also called the Kovalchuk contract over a day before it happened (the term, cap hit, etc.), as well as being one of the first to write about the Heatley to San Jose rumour.
Not defending him or claiming he's credible, but he has been correct over a few things over the last few years so he does have some inside source(s).

Eklund throws so much out there that he's bound to get something right every once in a while. Claiming that it's because of "inside sources" is akin to claiming that Maggie the Monkey or Paul the Octopus were doing their thing because of sports knowledge.

I agree with you, but getting every detail of the Kovalchuk contract extension correct? You'd have to have source to know those numbers and get every detail correct. I agree that if you keep speculating on realistic trades, you'll get a few guesses right, but not about specific things like contracts.

I don't doubt he does, and I applaud him for making a living doing what 50% of this board would LOVE to do for a living, but if anyone is counting on what he says they are delusional.

SN panel was talking about the Leafs not wanting to trade Bozak today on HC at Noon, because him and Kessel are best friends and Kessel would be "floored" if he left, and since Kessel is a UFA they won't want to upset him so maybe they will hold onto Bozak.

Then change Bozak to McArthur, both are rental's, both fill needs, and McArthur is a much better player

What need does MacArthur fill?
He's yet another 2nd/3rd line tweener (who is an upcoming UFA). We have plenty of those already.
We need a proven top 6 forward and a 3rd line center.

truthfully kadri is nothing more than a middle level prospect...19pts in 51 games, he gets the hype because he plays on a Canadian team....Bozak a solid 3rd liner on a good team....2nd liner on the leafs

Canucks might lose a finalist for the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goaltender (2004, 2007 and 2011), the Lester B. Pearson Award as the top player voted by his peers (2004 and 2007) and the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's most valuable player (2007)...at a reasonable cap hit and at the young age of 33.

Lu should be traded for Lupul, Kessel, Gardiner+, JVR etc...not mediocre players like Bozak/Kadri

That's giving him a little too much credit.

So Burke gives SN a "wink wink nudge nudge" story that he just cant trade a guy named Bozak because he'll upset his superstar.lol

McArthur is another Higgins, do we need another Higgins, raymond, Booth type? no we need a center or some good young pieces not another 2/3 line winger.
