I'll explain best I can (and someone else can fill in said missing pieces):

Every team has 30 "A" cards. Those are guys who will be on your team for 10 or more games. Essentially, your roster. When you acquire a guy like Koko or Aleardi, they get signed to "A" cards. Most teams start off with something in the low 20s, I believe.

There are also "B" cards, which are guys who can be called up throughout the year. They're in Jr B or Tier 2, I believe, and can play on your roster for up to nine games. Someone like Graham Brown for Windsor, I'd imagine, is on a "B" card. He was called up during the WJC.

Now, I believe any games someone is called up for during the WJC are not a part of the nine games that are on the "B" card. So, if Brown played six games, but all were during the WJC, none of those count against his total.

Thus, the Spitfires can acquire however many players they wish until they have 30 guys signed to "A" cards by the deadline.

According to Parker's Star article (tomorrow's paper), Aleardi will skate with on a line with Kerby and Koko.

Means either Johnson or Marchese on the lw of Vail and Ho-Sang on the second line, and the other of the two left wingers on the third line with Clarke and Verbeek

That's assuming there will be no more trades, I really hope there is atleast one more big one and that will help us this year and next year.

I don't think we'd have a presser with Koko back on Wednesday only to trade him. Not to mention trading for Aleardi today - WR's going for it again it seems. At least wants to make the play-offs, and hopefully get hot enough to get the 7th seed.

I don't think you trade Vail, and Johnson has a gold package and underachieving. I think of the three Clarke would be the one being moved - being a second rounder and Canadian kid, I'd assume he probably doesn't have a NTC.

I don't necessarily think any of them would HAVE to be traded. We can almost roll three solid lines if we kept them all. Now if DiGuissippe did come over that would change things - but even then Koko is not coming back next year.

Maybe a Clarke/Bateman for 18 yr old defenceman upgrade with some offensive capabilities.

I half figured WR was going to bring in Gibson before Palazzese was instead traded today. I wonder if Palazzese is there to stay in Sudbury or they'd be looking to flip him. I wonder if WR was in on the goalie London just signed as a FA. I hope so, as it would mean he's at least kicking the same rocks as the Hunters.

Well for one i love the fact that we got Aleardi because he is a proven top 6 forward witch is something this team has been missing all year. Had 33 of his 36 goals last season were scored 5-5 (one on the PP two SH) while 13 of his 15 goals this season cam 5-5 (one on the PP and SH). there is no doubt in my mind that we were able to give up just Lorentz who never really found his stride her because of the fact Plymouth got Heard back from the AHL.

I say trade Koko and get something back, Dont re-peat with what happened with Kassian and Ellis it would hurt us even more as a franchises, If WR doesnt it will help improve the input of Kerby witch is what the last 3 years have all been about in my mind

Yes the NHL lockout if over but im likely guessing most of the prospect that are in the OHL will likely stay because it will be 48 games why waste a year off there contracts when they can finish out the year in the OHL/CHL and not only do they not burn a year off there contracts. Even if they are NHL ready let them finish there Junior carrers and get a full 82 games out of them

Glad I'm not the only one who was wondering when I saw that.

Take this however you want. It's from a source, though not one of my regular ones:

"...the spits are getting a top 17 year old and a top 19 year old...both would be key to next year. Told from an Eastern Conference team."

Cannot guarantee anything, but this person has contacts, so...

Judging from the tweet - it's not Clarke. And I don't think Vail would be dealt. So it's players from a Johnson, Marchese, Ebert, Bateman group, likely with a lot of picks.

I think the 19 yr old will be a goalie who would be an OA next year. Could Sudbury be flipping Palazzese? DeKort be moved?

Let me throw this out there...

Baptiste/Palazzese for DeKort/???

I know nothing and want DeKort to stick around (he's going to be a great goaltender), but if it's Sudbury, then...
