Arnprior had most of its full line up last night and looked very strong against Stittsville beating them 5-3. Shanks, Burge, Stanton, Allard, all looked real strong for Arnprior. Steege and Lahoux had tougher nights but having carried the team for most of the season they deserve an off night. Great tilt between Shanks and Kerwin, unfortunately it happened with less than 10 in the third so both will miss next game. Arnprior played their back up goalie who made some great stops. The race of 2nd and 3rd is on in the Valley Division.
Stittsville bright spot was the play of Groulx, Bouchey and Hulford. When they were on the ice, they dominated but just could not finish on all of their chances. This was the main difference in the game, Arnprior finished their chances while Stittsville didn't.
They were aware after the Metro/Valley had already committed to it and yes they were offered the opportunity to join in at the December RSL meeting that Ron attended but the cost was higher and what was the benefit of switching mid season?
Why was the deal negotiated from Metro/Valley only and the RSL not included in or informed of these negotiations?
Why have 2 seperate websites 2/3 thew way through the season that really makes the league look like two separate leagues?
Mr. Shorey is not involved becasue he is the RSL President so why would Metro/Valley work with him when they want no part of him?
The question is not about the Pointstreak website which I have agreed is better. The point is why do it now with 1/2 the treams and not as an entire league?
From past experience in JrA with pointstreak the cost is set and is set in stone no matter whether or not you have 50 or 5 teams. So that being said it falls to what I beleive would be a vote in the RSL conference and by the looks of it we know how that panned out
BIG NEWS out of Renfrew. The coach GM has stepped down and brought in former coach Tony Iob.... WOW!!!!!! Will this change their focus and make them a pretender or a contender?
Did anybody go to the showcase this past weekend? any trade rumours?
i spent most of the day at the showcase.. only players mentioned were overagers mainly.. lots of jr.a scouts spotted and some pretty good crowds and a couple exciting games also.. athens was missing cameron and costello wasnt in the lineup but they had a couple new players but they didnt play very well against alexandria

I really liked How Westport looked on the weekend...although playing the lions helped. Casselman still seems to be the front runner tho. I liked Athens new additions and Cota stood out for me.

yeah westport did play the worst team in the league and the lions had a depleated roster.. cassleman looked okay but gan handled them pretty easily, considering casselman got away with alot
I think Gan played well against Casselman. Casselman showed how well they liked to lose. Casselman wins the trophy for dirtiest team. Casselman parents talking outside before the game in french saying that this should be a easy game. Alexandria played a great game against Athens. Brockville played a good game with no big names but a good goalie.
It seems crazy to have a show case weekend during the christmas holidays when some or several of the players either go home for the holidays or more so, need a bit of break from hockey. From reading the previous posts, it seems most teams where missing some regulars.

The date is always Saturday on or before Jan.10 deadline so all teams in the Conference can meet, scout players and discuss possible deadline day deals.
First one held was actual on JAN 10 and worked well, so the Conference has tried to stick close to that date.
Sorry to change the subject a bit, but I've been trying to find out some particulars about the Jan 10 trade deadline and not much out there (even on the EOJHL league site).
So after Jan 10, are the rosters set in stone? This is what I would expect, but I've been talking to some who think that players can be added after Jan 10, like perhaps players that are not currently signed or whose rights don't belong to any team. How else can a team add after the deadline (if at all)?
Jan 10th is trading deadline, "free agents" can still be added up to either Feb 1 or 10, for teams that still have a card to use. These are Hockey Canada rules, not league rules.
The new standing not correct as Gatineau forfeited (playing a suspended player) the game Nov.27,2013 vs OJC 0-1 correct standing should be
Gatineau Mustangs 47
Ottawa Canadians 40
Ottawa West Golden Knights 39
Metcalfe Jets 34
Clarence Beavers 34
Was at the West v Canadians tonite, close game for a while until Canadians opened it up with some free wheeling and pounded them 10-3. West started with their back up and changed after a 3-1 deficit at the end of the first. Stater didnt fare much better and it certainly looks like their weak spot. That was the third game in six days and Canadians hadnt played in 3 weeks, West did not look good. Mite see a few trades by them before Thursday ends.
Alot of unloading done tonight by the Morrisburg Lions which was expected:
-Overager Sylvester Bzdyl traded to the Akwesasne Wolves
-Overager Chris Rutley traded to the Perth Blue Wings
-20 year old Dylan Casselman traded to the Brockville Tikis
And they named 16 year old Grant Cooper the captain for the remainder of the season

Could you tell me where you are hearing about these trades? With all the changes to the EOJHL website, I can't seem to find any info about trades that are occurring.
