If Subban is traded wouldn't the Jack Johnson trade be a good example of Value? I would expect that Montreal would want an established player returning and not just prospects/picks

Definitely anger. Not sure what side it will come from (probably both TBH) but there will be anger.

Somebody will go after Paul Ranger in a big way. Not sure about his exact status with the Leafs.

As much as I love Subban I'd do that deal in a second. The point is moot anyway he's not going anywhere.

BTW, my real prediction beside the AHL deal a couple pages back, is Carolina acquiring Kevin Westgarth from LA for a draft pick. Carolina needs some toughness, LA needs to dump some forwards, and Westgarth worked out in Carolina during the lock-out (I believe he is from the area, but it still makes sense to me).

When does the first trade happen?
When do you think the first trade will happen? And who gets traded, and to where?

Does anyone know whether the market for trades and signings will open tomorrow after everything is ratified, or does it open on Sunday? I can't find this anywhere and figured this was an appropriate place to find out.

I really hope the Leafs acquire Roberto Bortuzzo just for the sake of trolling...

What is the deadline for the players to ratify? I believe there is one more step after that. Trades probably start Sunday morning?

They don't, but for the first one, the Red Wings have way too many forwards as it is. I don't think they do it either considering they don't need any more F and Whitney is a step down from Kronwall.
The picks are unnecessary though.
