Straight up, 1 for 1, need for need. Pretty sure other Isles fans will hate it since Nelson is pretty well liked. I've always been high on Rundblad though and feel like he could potentially fill that offensive void left by Visnovsky(or at least some of it). I suppose the Isles could just dumpster dive the UFA market, but I figured this would be a little more interesting.
Let's make a deal(PW, I bet you were expecting Yandle, right?)
Hmm this Nelson sounds pretty good judging by the way you all are talking about him & by the way all the Sens fans were talking in the Turris trade thread about Rundblad.
NO!!!!
We agree on a lot of things but the Isles should not trade Nelson! Especially for such a low value.
I assume Nelson has more value, but I thought asking for Rundblad and a 3rd would look a bit petty. Don't think the difference would be much more than that. Rundblad's a solid prospect.

So in that case.
Nelson > Rundblad > Turris?
I disagree, seeing as Turris was traded for Rundblad and a second round pick. The way I see it:
Don't see what the big deal is. I see both of these guys in that top-40/50 prospect range. Brock probably has a little higher value now but IMO the gap is smal enough that it could change pretty easily. I know Rundblad isn't the prototypical defensive d-man, but considering the Isles system at the moment I don't think that would be a bad thing. We are lacking PMD's, especially ones as talented as Rundblad. Even more so now with Lubo wanting out.
IMO it's a fair trade, and one the Isles can afford to make with a core of Tavares-Strome-Nielsen-Cizikas/Sundstrom up the middle.
I like this trade from a Phx point of view. But I'm a big Nelson fan and i'm not all that high on Rundblad. If you're not willing to deal Nelson, how about Nielson for Rundblad?

Other than Tavares, you don't know if those other guys will pan out. The Isles have needs down the middle as bad as they do on D. If this is an emergency trade, it's not a very good one... it only plops another prospect into the pipeline. The Isles need a NHL proven player, not a 22 year old with 30 games NHL experience.

Is not like the proposal was a legit NHLer for a prospect, it's a prospect for a prospect(and one who is probably ready to step into the NHL in a position we need)

But, the premise behind the trade is one of an "emergency" need. The acquisition of an unproven player, even for another prospect, doesn't address the need. It's just more prospectbating.

brock nelson is a 6 foot 3 good skating skilled center with number 2 center potential, i think every team would absolutely love to have a prospect like that
