2nd Round Pick 2013

Montreal:
Josh Gorges

Ottawa:
6th Round Pick 2014
Chris Wideman

Vancouver:
Keith Ballard

I don't think the Montreal trade would ever happen because of the rivalry but I think the value is there.
Gonchar trade would be stupid since we are thin on D. We would be getting a steal in the Vancouver deal. Montreal rivalry is a myth, but seems like the closest deal

Gonchar only gets moved at the deadline if we are out of it. Otherwise I don't see it happening.

I want Chris Stewart from the Blues. With the arrival of Tarasenko, Stewart is likely going to be relegated to the 3rd line RW spot and with a expiring contract (RFA and 3M$ cap hit), they might look into moving him. Hell even add in one of Kris Russell or Roman Polak for depth on D. No idea what the package going St. Louis' way would have to be but I'd certaintly explore this idea if I was BMurr.

Montreal should be adding a lot to this. Like Collberg and take out Ottawa's 2nd.

Bishops cost picks you know.

I meant the one we would've gotten from trading Gonchar.

There is a young D-Man out of Tampa named Brian Lee that I hear is pretty solid. Maybe they would be interested in trading him? He could certainly help us on D this year.

We have Lundin (when back)/Phillips/Weir? as 3rd pairing quality. It is a top 4 guy we need

I don't think he wants to come here. We gave him away so he could have a fresh start.

Don't post much, but with regards to the lack of depth on defense, Bryan needs to pick up the phone and call the agent for Paul Ranger as soon as he is allowed to.

Ranger has been great for the Marlies. He's a vet who still young (28 yrs) and he could step in immediately.

Also, since he's been playing regularly there are no questions as to his fitness level as there would be with some other ufa's.

Mike Gillis would take Smith and run if offered. Ballard is the clear-cut favourite for a buyout in the summer, so if he get actual value (and a C where they have a hole right now) for him while saving money, of course.

So forgive the ignorance, but is there a schedule of when free agents can be signed and trades can occur? Sorry if that was already posted, I missed it if so.

I don't think its set yet, they need the CBA signed first.

I was just listening to the guys on TVA sports and they were talking about P.K. Subban still not sign. Apparently he was asking for something like Dougthy money (wich is to much from the team standing point, and mine as well) and the team wants to give him a contract around 3,5 4 m.

Maybe ottawa could offer sheet at 5, 5.5 or try to trade for him. In both ways it will force Mtl hands wich would be great . What do you guys thinks about this a top for of Cowen Karlsson Methot Subban would be solid.

I'd target Vandermeer and Jurcina at this point. Maybe have Mottau signed as just a 7-8th defenceman
