EDIT: Though, as Mike Russo notes, if the Wild do the expected and re-sign Nick Palmieri they will already be at 50 contracts, and will need to move someone if they are to sign Mara to an NHL deal.
Ah, crap. I'm a Reign STH, and our team has just been decimated by callups... Of course, if you're a fan of the ECHL, you knew this would happen as soon as the deal was signed! It's probably happening all over the ECHL...

Not an official invite or anything however, Kovalev has been skating at Rangers facility.

I saw pics of Samsonov practicing with some Oilers players. I know he played for Edmonton at one point but I'm not sure if this means an invite is coming.

Aaron Portzline confirmed earlier that Columbus had reached an agreement to invite Kovlaev to their camp but wasn't sure the offer still stood. If he's already in North America, I'd imagine he'll get an invite somewhere.

My bad, it's just Samsonov skating with Jeff Petry only at a center in Michigan. I was looking through pics on Yahoo sports and there were other pictures of a few Oilers together (Smid, Belanger and Potter) but now it looks like Samsonov and Petry were at a separate location (possibly with some Detroit guys). I wrongly put them together.

Sweet mother of god...

Dan Murphy ‏@sportsnetmurph

I'm hearing former #blackhawks #wild #oilers d-man Cam Barker may get a try out at #canucks training camp to earn a 7 or 8 blueline spot.

Sergei Mozyakin of Metallurg should come over, he's at the top of KHL scoring with the rest of the NHL stars. Albeit he's playing with Malkin as far as I can tell, but in years prior he still had impressive numbers.

Huh. I'd heard through the grapevine that Vandermeer might get a shot here. He's apparently been working out with Bieksa and the boys at UBC through all this. WTF happened to Barker...man. Maybe we can get Daigle while we're at it...

Heard from a bird that Mikael Nylander is hoping for a camp invitation from an NHL team. Maybe as a 4th liner/PP specialist somewhere?

He's one of the highest paid players in the KHL and I read somewhere he makes $6m a year AFTER taxes...

He was skating in NY with a few Ranger players a few weeks ago, so he's here.

Would be awesome to see him back. Dallas should sign he and Straka

On a side note, it feels really good to actually be posting about hockey decisions and not business ones.

Interesting 2 hear some players being invited to short'n training camps. Not more interest' than Alex Kovalev to #Panthers. Closing in on 40

Mozyakin has been near the top of RSL/KHL scoring for years, and has never shown the slightest interest in coming over. Seems very comfortable where he is.

Martinek is skating at Ice Works with the Isles and expects to try out for the team at camp, I expect he will make the team.

I don't think he would help a NHL team. He played here in Switzerland last season and was not very good

David Poile said that he had 9 different agents call him yesterday with players looking for jobs\wanting tryouts, so I think you're going to see a lot of this type of thing.

1 year $1 million. 4th line C that we actually need. And can put up 25-30 points.
