What would you consider a reasonable "+" from FLA?
to Van: Weiss +
to FLA: Lu
Ideally someone like Shore or Petrovic but I'm not sure how likely that is. Thinking something along the lines of Luongo, Raymond for Weiss, Petrovic, 2nd round pick would be an excellent deal for both teams assuming we could get Weiss re-signed.

It's a fair deal valuewise but I think FLA declines. They want to build from last year and they'll need a viable replacement for Weiss to do so.
It'd have to be Lu, Schroeder for Weiss + prospect and even then, I'm not sure they'd say yes with their offense being as anemic as it is.
Since i didn't want to start a new thread, I'm going to ask you guys do you think Tavares for RnH woul dbe a good deal in a non-keeper league.
I have put a claim in on Moulson as well...
Buddy has offered Zetterberg and Cammalleri for RnH...Also tried Tavares + Backes for Toews and RnH I'm not doing the second deal for anything and most likely turn down the Zetterberg deal as well.
Vancouver is getting too little value in that trade IMHO.
Young goalies with Schneider's pedigree will get you a ton on it's own.
Oh, I know. The plus was basically a <insert whatever here> because I'm too lazy to list all of what could fill that. Just focused on the centerpieces really.

See, that's how you guys know even as a Leafs fan I am fair
If the Leafs were lucky enough to Obtain Schneider I think it would be
Lupul, Gardiner and 1st STARTING. Maybe another prospect or roster player.
I would be interested in Cam Barker if he played the right side, or if he came in for the league minimum and replaced Andrew Alberts.
Since I don't see that happening, don't know why he would come here.
Waste of a spot giving Barker a tryout IMO. No way he makes the team even over Joslin. Hopefully GMMG rectifies this mistake by getting a solid #7 (Vandermeer).
Have any of you guys seen Capgeeks recent tweets. Apparently under the new CBA burying players in the minors is penalized and that the Rangers would be hit with 5.6 million capt hit if Redden stays in the minors. That's hilarious if true.

Wait, so that would be in effect this season? Geezus. They must love the idea of buying him out next season.
I thought they'd grandfather in the old contracts, but this AHL salary rule and the Luongo rule are both apparently in action on current contracts I guess. Crazy!
Yeah that team's "petty cash fund" probably exceeds the budget of a number of NHL teams.
Sather is great at making trades or even unloading his garbage contracts on others but *HORRIBLE* at signing UFAs. Don't let him be to only signature required on any cheques.

Although it warms the heart to see something go bad for the Rangers, I think its a complete joke for a team to be punished for following the rules/guidelines they were given at the time.

That's not nearly as egregious as the cap recapture rule, there was no loophole or anything like that with the Redden deal itself (just an awful contract they were rightly stuck with) and they aren't going to be responsible for all the cap space they saved under the previous CBA by hiding him in the minors.
Perhaps they can convince him to go on loan to a European team for the rest of the year.
So they would be on the hook this year, as soon as the CBA is ratified, for his contract affecting their current cap hit?
I guess. Capgeek has it listed like that.
Right now, they are fine cap-wise with keeping him in the minors ($5,341,666 in cap space to sign Del Zotto), but I'm sure they would prefer spending that extra cap space on someone else.
So I wouldn't be completely shocked if they decide to use him this season as a depth d-man, as it would only cost 900k to keep him in the NHL.
