Which would be more asinine than it was to jerk around Sbisa in 2008. Why would you waste an ELC year on a shortened season? We're going to need that cheap labor after Giroux, Schenn, and Couturier are re-signed. Dumb.
Don't worry about the salary cap. The Flyers don't, why should you. Just roll with it.
Sources at Tampere will say that Flyers have signed free agent defenceman Kurtis Foster who played for Tappara Tampere (my favourite Finnish team) during the lockout.
Should help your power-play, a needed right handness.

So dumb. I'm not even worried about the contract situation. I'm worried about the kid's development.

Having Laughton as the 4th line center could bring Talbot up to 3rd line wing and Rusty down to the 4th. Which is nice because we could use another top 9 forward like Talbot.

Probably means Mez isn't quite ready yet. Foster is an alright puck mover and PP d man, but he sucks defensively.
I hope news of foster is true. Not a big fan buts he's def an upgrade over lilja and gervais 3rd pairing.
Was he in Edmonton last year ? A cannon from the point as a RHD could def give the PP a different look. Is he same guy that shattered his leg going into end boards few years ago ?
Good news. I would love to put Talbot on the third line to form a top notch shut down line with him Couts/Read and then put a natural center on the fourth line with Laughton (granted he performs well).

He was in Edmonton in 2010-11. Last yr he played for more then one team if I'm not mistaken. And yeah he broke his leg crashing into the boards but I don't remember when.

Was traded to Anaheim for Andy Sutton in the off-season.
During the season he was traded to the Devils and later to the Wild.
My point was more that I don't see Wellwood - Laughton - Fedotenko being a line that can take a regular shift. If that's your 4th line they're only gonna see spot duty.
Why? If Wellwood plays like he did last year, that's going to be great, and Fedotenko is a legitimate NHL-er anyway. The only unknown is Laughton, but I'm sure he could play the role of a fourth line center. I don't know, I think that would make for an intriguing line.
Oh, and am I the only one really scared Simmonds is going to be a bust, and that last year was an exception?
