Loved Jokinen's quotes from today talking about the city. He says he loves it here and his family wanted to stay here over going to Florida if the lockout didn't end. I have tons of respect for this guy, wish he was younger and Id put Jokinen on my next jersey. Can't wait to cheer for this guys!
Ditto. The next time someone rips on our city we should just direct them to this...

"I love it here,"
"I didn’t have any expectations of coming in. I didn’t want to listen to every second person who was saying, ‘You’re out of your mind signing in Winnipeg; it’s cold, it’s a bad city.’ You hear a lot of negative stuff about the city if you don’t live here. But once you live here, you’ve got everything you need. People love hockey, there are unbelievable schools, people are friendly. What else can you ask?"
I hated Campoli for his bone head play a couple years ago against the Canucks that led to Chicago being eliminated.
That said, I wouldn't mind picking him up. I don't think he's a bad player, and at the right price I'd take a flyer.

I do think he is a bad player. I was just trolling.
There is all this chatter about will Pavs be our franchise goalie. I was thinking we should try to get Zatkoff from the Pens seeing as they have Fleury and Vokoun ahead of him. I think this guy is ready to be a solid NHL backup which we don't really have in our system unless Pasquale continues his development.

Isn't Vokoun signed to a one year deal? My guess is the Pens are looking to have Zatkoff back up Fleury next season.
At any rate, I'm dead set against trading for netminders that haven't proven anything at the NHL level, just strikes me as a waste of assets. I think you're much better off trying to sign a bargain-basement UFA like Dex or Montoya to bolster your depth in hopes of uncovering an NHL calibre backup.
IceCaps’ head coach Keith McCambridge confirmed Tuesday that St. John’s could lose up to three defencemen as the Winnipeg Jets collect bodies for a truncated training camp that will probably start this weekend. Paul Postma is definitely going, while Redmond and Derek Meech are also being considered, meaning the IceCaps will probably lose at least a third, perhaps a half, of their regular defensive corps.
Later on in the article McCambridge mentions that one or two of St. Johns forwards could be coming to camp as well.
Burmi for sure, not sure if they counted him. Machacek should be going too.
I have also heard that the Jets want a look at Ivan. No idea if that is true though.
would be very cool (and shocking) to see Ivan make enough noise to get a sniff... but i could see alot of that coming from a lack of progress from Klingberg thusfar.

I don't think they'd bring him in with expectations of him making the team, but they'd probably like to get to see him next to their people and show him what the show is all about. Might just be a reaction to him missing camp. Might be make-believe. Might happen, might not.

I don't see it. It's going to be Telegin's shot to move up the lineup in St. John's with a few guys missing, something he will need to take advantage of, not the time to bring him to WPG...he's looked fine, but he needs to start translating that into more production down in St. John's, this is his chance, perhaps taking some of Machacek's minutes...
Postma, Redmond, Machacek, Cormier are all but guaranteed to be headed to WPG, IMO. Meech and Macenauer are the maybes.

A. Kostitsyn will not come over, he has a signed deal with Traktor...
Svatos and Kovalev are reclamation projects (for very different reasons) that are incredibly unlikely to be able to play at the NHL level anymore...
I get the feeling that the Panthers are trying to find a creative way to raise the level of competition at camp without pillaging San Antonio too badly.
Then again, has there every existed a situation that Kovalev raised the level of intensity of?
Not going to lie, I wouldn't mind if we picked up Kostitsyn.
Big RW who plays well defensively. Last year was a write-off, but the four years prior he scored from 15-26 goals a year. He'd look good on the 2nd line next Kane and Jokinen.

Andrei is signed through this season in KHL, same as Malkin/Kovalchuk being unable to stay there, Andrei can't come here....
