In the deal, the Rangers send goaltender Franky Palazzese, defenceman Cory Genovese and forward Matt Schmalz to Sudbury. Kitchener also sends a fourth round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection (from Oshawa), a sixth round pick in 2013 (from Owen Sound), a seventh round pick in 2014 (from Windsor) and a first round pick in the 2013 CHL Import Draft (from Plymouth). In addition, the deal includes two conditional picks, a conditional second round in 2017 if Palazzese does not return to the Wolves for his overage season and a conditional second in 2019, if forward Joshua Leivo plays in the OHL during the 2013-14.
In exchange, Sudbury sends Leivo, defenceman Frank Corrado and goaltender Joel Vienneau to Kitchener, along with Sudbury’s first round pick in the 2013 CHL Import Draft, a sixth round pick in 2015 and an eighth round pick in 2013. The deal also include a conditional third round pick in 2014 if Sudbury trades Palazzese during the 2013-14 season.
I think Trocheck is moved late on the 9th or early on the 10th. He'll get honored at the game (be a healthy scratch) for his WJC gold and then be traded right after or early Thursday morning. Ross stays put.
It maybe a tough call, but Im sure Mark will evaluate this group without a thought to the streak.
They arent perfect by any means. Areas can be improved on.
If he feels the cost is too high maybe he stands relatively quiet but Im thinking hes looking to add.
He wont let the streak make him overvalue his current roster.
London usually makes noise this time of year but tough to change up the chemistry they have after that streak. Do you break up whats ticking right?
Mark can add without disrupting the core or chemistry.
The main young guys arent moving (Domi, Horvat, Zadarov, Anderson, Rups, (hopefully Tierney) et al. A kid or two may move but it shouldnt crush the room
That makes no sense from Plymouth's standpoint. If Vellucci moves Heard and Noesen, it means he's selling for the future. So, what good does a '92 goalie do for the Whalers in such a situation?
If the Whalers are selling, I'd expect Belleville to be very interested in Rakell now that they have an import spot open. He would bump fellow Ducks prospect Cramarossa down to the 3rd line and give the Bulls a great 1-2-3 down the middle ( Graovac, Rakell, Cramarossa).
