If Calgary continues on their same path, I see baertschi succumbing to Iginla syndrome and being alone without a decent center for the majority of his career. The fact that I'm a Kane fan makes this poll almost laughable.

For the record, if Sven's career has the same "syndrome" as Jarome Iginla, I'll be ecstatic. And it's also cool that you can see a teams future 10 years down the road.

That doesn't make any sense.
For the poll itself, Sven is a bit of a wildcard right now. He could top out at being a franchise winger, or he could just be a good top 6 player. Kane is established and definitely the safer bet. Sven has the higher upside, however.

I honestly think it'll be Baertschi. Everything I've seen from him indicate he's gonna be a stud. EKane will be a very solid player in this league, but I think Baertschi has the top-end potential to be an all-star in this league.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.

Baertschi is a dynamic forward with very high end skill and playmaking. He reminds me of a mix of Eberle and Ennis. Very quick, sick hands and good hockey IQ. Kane is a powerful mix of speed, grit and goal scoring ability. Both are great players. Ironically Kane reminds me of Iginla. I feel like Baertschi has a higher ceiling but not by much.
Also what does 13th overall vs 4th overall have to do with it?? LOL
33rd overall Ryan O'Reilly vs 15th overall Peter Holland anyone?
This. I never understand the point of polls comparing legitimate NHLers to prospects.
Ok but by this logic your saying a General Manager wouldnt consider moving Matt Duchene for Nathan MacKinnon? Nick Leddy for Jonas Brodin? Derek Stepan for Mikhail Grigorenko?
If you are a GM and someone offers you Nail Yakupov for Logan Couture you should be able to compare who is better and who will be better.
If someone feels a prospect will be better than a current NHL'er then you absolutely should be able to compare them. NHL players get traded for prospects all the time.
BTW I am not saying any of those players compared will be better or worse than the other, I am just making a point that you should be able to compare NHL'ers to Prospects.
Ok, the 4th overall vs 13th overall argument may not be great, but...
We're talking about a 4th overall who has progressed as well as anyone could have anticipated, against a 13th overall who hasn't played in the NHL yet.
Two seasons in, that's a pretty good point. What has the 13th overall proven which indicate that he will have a better career?
Yes, he may end up better, but why would people think that now?
Like saying that Baertschi looks like he's going to be an all-star and a stud. Kane had 30 goals as a 20 year old. He's not too far off all-star status right now.
Really don't see how this poll makes any sense right now.
