Somebody should tell Ekholm to get his foot out of that boot! MVG was hurt in the second period of Saturday's game. Moore hasn't played in 6 weeks. Foss is done for the season. Don't any of those guys count?

I think he won SYTYCD. Either that or they just named the trophy after him

The third team was the Preds..

When he replacesd Vokoun when Koun went down with the blood clot in 06-07 Mason was 24-11 in 40 games. In 07-08 Mason was 18-22 His first starting job in the NHL. Lost the job to Ellis and was traded at the end of the year. I just can't see how anyone would consider that a " Great Run". I really hope he can return to the back-up he was behind Vokey but he was a back-up with the Jets last year played in 20 games and had 8 wins.

March. He said in Swedish on Twitter that he broke a bone in his foot, but I don't know if that's everything...

Doesn't anyone think that Smith might be an NHL goalie? He seems to be doing well in the AHL right now.

he was pretty good last year, but struggled earlier this year IIRC....

would be interested on the opinion of the ads fans as to how they would compare Smith to Dekanich

Smith's upside is good NHL backup, IMO.

In Smith's defense, the Ads were scoring 1-2 goals a game for him and 4-5 for Hellburg during that stretch...

I don't see your comparison of Josi to Weber. He definitely looks more like Suter than Weber. He's looked solid moving the puck, IMO.

Josi's nickname in Milwaukee was the Swiss Suter. I would not be surprised to see Weber not skip a beat.

I sure hope your right. I really want to see Josi do well, but I still have reservations on him being paired with Weber. He has a heavy shot and if he can move the puck it will cause opposing teams fits having a pair that can blast the puck on net like these two.

Josi is definetly more Suter than Weber.

This is the analysis of Josi not done by Predator fans, of which I am one too.

Talent Analysis

Josi is a good all-round defenseman that has solid hockey sense and a good skillset. He's a good passer, can be a puck mover and possess a very good shot from the point. The young blueliner has a complete game with minor weaknesses but also doesn't have a standout talent either. He has good size and solid skating but needs to play more physically down low and in front of his net. Josi projects as a possible top-four defenseman at the NHL level.

The rub in my opinion is still the ability to move the puck for Weber cause we all know thats Webers weak area. The good thing is it will not be long until we see how it shakes out.

I don't doubt that there's a definite stylistic resemblance between Suter and Josi.

That doesn't mean there's not a significant drop-off in ability, at least at this point.

Thats the concern. As Pred fans we tend to see more in our players then is really there. See Mason, Ellis, Legwand, Tootoo, ect ect. The staff does however have the ability to get more out of borderline players and give up on others who go to other teams and have successful careers. Its a frustrating thing.

Trotz also had some very good words to say about Austin Watson. Sounds like he may get a look in Nashville this year
As excited as I am about Watson, I don't think he gets promoted that quickly. Good to see management has taken notice of his good play though.

Bring him (or Latta/Beck) up to start the year and put him in Bourque's spot. Better than McG playing

Agreed. I hate to say it, but the goon is really getting to be a wasted spot.

I love McGrattan, and am glad he is a part of our team, but unless we're playing a rival with a big enforcer, there is absolutely no reason for him to be dressed for a game.

Let me give you a reason to have McG on the roster.
