So what is this all about? I'm not much of a football guy, how important is this game in the grand scheme of things? (yes I understand it's a championship game) Is this the equivalent of a Mem. Cup or a Calder Cup? Are these the future stars of the NFL?

LOL Notre Dame.

I'm happy to see them get beat down, but I was still hoping it would be a little closer.

Because college football does not have a playoff system they currently matchup #1 vs #2 based of a ranking system. If you are a member of a BCS conference (Big 10, Big 12, SEC, Pac 12, ACC, Big East or Notre Dame) and go undefeated you will pretty much be guarenteed playing in the national title game. Sometimes your conference is weak so you get a team like Notre dame who is over matched playing a power house like alabama. To answer your second question 3 offensive lineen on Alabama will be first round picks in the NFL.

With an added bit about our very own Evander Kane

At the end of each season, the billions of dollars of hockey-related revenue won't be considered final until the total amount has been thoroughly audited, signed off by forensic accountants, and had its picture taken with Evander Kane.

For anybody who is a child at heart like me, Nintendo did a special presentation early this morning called Pokemon Direct. They announced the next generation of Pokemon games in Pokemon X and Y. It looks to be a complete graphical overhaul targeted specifically for the Nintendo 3DS, and for the first time, based on a location outside of Japan. It's looking for a simultaneous world wide release in October this year. I have a serious soft spot in my heart for Pokemon, so I'll likely pick up this title.

Gotta upgrade my DS I have the original, and it is well used to say the least. Super pumped for this, and looking forward to the 3-D world

Is it bad to let your child cry themselves to sleep?

My little guy is having a lot of trouble sleeping on his own...and frankly despite only being like two feet tall he's a friggen bed hog. My old lady and I have done everything...and she doesn't like it if I just ignore it.

Shes playing bingo tonight and wont be back until ten...so i figured I'd give it a try. What does everybody think...ah damn he got up mother ****er.

Why don't you or your wife just hang out in his bed until he falls asleep?

Thats what I did. Unfortunately I don't really think we can do that forever, and I'm really trying to teach him some self reliance. Its my old lady's fault for doing this, I went away for awhile and she didn't keep to his schedule or anything, so he got all ****ed up. Then she would be calling me going crazy because he would still be up at 11pm and she wouldn't have time for herself.

No, you shouldn't have to do it forever. Is he just going through a separation anxiety stage where he's scared to be in his bed by himself?

Funny comment by Ladd in a radio interview: "I was speaking to Buff the other day and mentioned to him that his first 50 games are usually his best, so he should have a good season this year".

We had the same problem. Went cold turkey on the kid, two crying nights and clear sailing after that. It's hardest on the mom's, but it can be overcome.

If you don't do it it can become a nightmare, I know of a family where the 12 and 9 year olds can't fall asleep if one of the parents isn't in the room.

Seconded.

Gotta be both parents though. If your wife reverts then the effort is killed.

Agreed my wife has many great habits and parenting skills (diet, discipline, not spoiling) but this is an area she is REALLY challenged in. The Gerber method (cry it out) is really effective but you can't waiver. I have talked to lots of parents who have done this and they all agree if you stick to it you are in for 2 maybe 3 bad nights then its smooth sailing.

I will let you know how this goes because we are getting close to doing this with our daughter who is 11 months old today.

We went through a phase with our 2 year when he was about 8 months old refusing to go to sleep on his own in his room. We just let him lay in bed with us watching tree house until he fell asleep then put him in his room. It only lasted about a month until he just went to sleep on his own.

Like you said, it's all about a routine and sticking to it.
