I am interested in Murray for the sens, other than Smith not sure which center will interest SJ, O'Brien or Regin.

As a fan of both teams, Sharks get shafted. I'd love something along the lines of Clowe + Murray for Gionta and Emelin.

It's hard to believe the value of Handzus over the past year. I recall some Kings fans wanting to keep Zus and trade Stoll instead. I think Wilson rolls the dice and hopes he rights the ship this season.

My condolences to Moore and his family. That's terrible

Oh God this is so wrong. Handzus is terrible now. Dude should retire. (I agree with the bolded though)

A bit too much salary coming back. I've seen other Montreal fans swap Emelin for Weber, which I like.

I don't have high hopes for Handzus, but maybe we should wait until we see him play a few games before completely writing him off.

This thread is screaming Frans Neilsen. Unfortunately we can't replace Frans just yet. If Strome or Nelson are able to step up into the 2C role, then we might have a deal here.

Frans for Murray +3rd?

I think the Pens could use Murray. Jeffrey is a reliable 3C with an upside to possibly be more.

Murray

for

Jeffery + Sneep/Strait (some NHL ready replacement)?

We want Clowe too...

Murray + Clowe for Jeffery + Kennedy + Strait + 2nd?

No way would they take Regin, hes as fragile as they come. O'brien is a less physical but smarter Smith.

Smith fits the OP's description to a tee.

I would agree that with Carks out of the lineup we aren't as tough but Konopka? I doubt anyone is scared of his tree hugging fighting style.

In a heartbeat. Nielsen is perfect.

The Sharks aren't in the business of giving up Clowe for scraps.

Murray for Kennedy is usually generally agreed upon by Pens and Sharks fans, you do the rest of the math.

I don't see them needing a 3rd line center right now. I think they're going to take their chances with James Sheppard before they decide to look elsewhere. He's done well in Worcester thus far during the lockout, they spent a 3rd rounder on him, and are likely to re-sign him as soon as the CBA is ratified. Handzus is not guaranteed a 3rd line spot either as he had been scratched for a few playoff games and relegated to the 4th line for the couple he got in for.

Galiardi-Sheppard-Burish
Desjardins-Handzus-Wingels

Or some combination of the six is what I'm guessing will be what they start with. If they need to add, they'll do so at the deadline.

A guy like Marcel Goc, Rich Peverle or Chris Kelly?

I think your expectations for a 3rd line center are a bit high.

No complaints from my side.

I'm just as much a Habs fan as Sharks fan. Been a Sharks fan since I was something like age 4, because of the logo, now it's just plain loyalty.

As a Shark fan, that's horrible for you guys. Nielsen is a solid 3rd liner that is great defensively.

Murray has 6 months on his contract before UFA and he is better suited on a contending team.

I'd really like to see if Sheppard can come back. I'm also open to giving Moore a new contract, in addition to my condolences.

How about Brad Richardson and a 4th for your 2nd rounder this year?

Why would he say no? Bad blood?

Murray would be good for the depth in Vancouvers defence short term for another run at the cup, which really only sport Alberts (not really good enough) and Connauton (to young). Some grit would be more than welcome. Murray and Malhotra is about the same age, salary and has probably about the same durability (Murray has probably a lower durability but he play D so he can cope). Add in a 3d round and it is done.

No bad blood at all. Malhotra actually talked to DW after he got Vancouver's offer to see if DW wanted to match it. I just don't see DW trading for him when he could have signed him earlier, too much pride.
Not too sure Malhotra is the 3C the Sharks need after his eye injury though.
