Is Kubina still a FA? How about Campoli? If we got one of those two as a stop gap for Cowen for a season would it be that bad?

The center position is more difficult to replace than wing. So that being the case I do not see them putting Peter Regin at center. He may be a point producer or he may be made of glass. His last two seasons suggest the latter. They will want to put him on the wing and see how he progresses.

Barring any trades for d-men....

Michalek - Spezza - Silfverberg
Lats - Turris - Alfie
Regin - Smith - Neil
Greening - JOB - Condra
(Daug - 13th forward)

Methot - Karlsson
Phillips - Gonchar
Borocop - Wiercioch
(Lundin - scratch until healthy)

Andy/Bishop
(Lehner - called up as potential starter if Andy gets hurt)

i know it's silly to spend so much time on the lines when it will all get mixed around anyway, but i love staring at this,

Latendresse-Spezza-Alfredsson/Michalek
Silfverberg-Turris-Michalek/Alfredsson
Greening-Regin-Neil
Smith-OBrien-Condra

Imagine the trade deadline if the Senators are doing amazing?!??! We have tons of cap space for this year and even coming years. We could add not just expiring contracts if we wanted. And we have a ton of futures to deal if we wanted/needed to. If we are top 10 playing well we could pick up crazy roster players at the deadline and try to win it all.

Does anyone think Turris could be a 65-70 point player this year?

I don't know what Pierre McGuire has seen to say it could have happened this year if it was a full season. In any case, we have a good replacement should Spezza get injured.

I think we have already seen the best from Condra & Daugavins & it wouldn't surprise me if they try & move both of them during the yr. Also Latendresse & Regin will need to get out of the gate fast or both could see themselves slowly dropping into oblivion.

My guess is that Stone will eventually replace Condra, DD will eventually replace Daugavins & Grant will eventually replace Regin. If Latendresse does not work out we have Zibanejad waiting in the wings to replace him. These four would certainly make our team bigger, tougher & harder to play against.

This could be the perfect yr to give these guys some NHL experience since most again are picking Ottawa to end up in the 7th to 10th range. My guess is that Noesen will eventually replace Alfredsson at RW next yr.

Latendresse has a rep for being a bit of a fatty. Since he hasn't been playing, I'd stick both Greening and Silfverberg ahead of him on the depth chart, at least to being with.

I just cant see a team winning with that blue line, they need atleast one more top 3 and a depth guy.

I wasn't aware. I guess it's fair to give him the chance because we brought him in to score, but he will have to prove in training camp that he belongs on a scoring line. He won't have a spot in the top6 handed to him, like Spezza, Turris, Alfredsson, and Michalek will.

was going to say i'd be really surprised if latendresse does not start in the top 6. But it is possible that greening or regin really outplay him in the camp. still, i'm pretty sure everyone is very curious to see how latendresse plays with either spezza or turris so i'm assuming he'll be there to start. He's apparently in great shape and he has shown that he can score 30 (and that's without spezza).

Can't wait to see what he brings.

Michalek Spezza Silfverberg
Latendresse Turris Alfredsson
Greening Regin Neil
O'Brien Daugevins Smith Condra (Smith stays in the lineup the other three rotate)

Methot Karlsson
Phillips Gonchar (oh god)
Weircioch Benoit
Borowiecki

Anderson
Bishop
Lehner

That d core is just absolutely frightening with the injuries to Cowen and Lundin (which was still pretty ugly to begin with). I really think they need to make a move for a top 2 guy and possibly a depth d man.

Love what the forwards look like, fingers crossed that Latendresse and Regin can stay healthy.

If we have two rookie defensemen up there is no way Gonchar and Phillips play together. They will definitely be split up to show the young guys the ropes.

personnel-wise, it's pretty hard to argue against the 12 guys with one-ways plus silfverberg as the only rookie. Silf has outplayed all the other options in the AHL. If some of the NHLers start slowly or need to take days off, guys can be called up, but to start at least these are our 13 guys. At center, regin makes more sense on the wing than JOB, mainly because regin should get better than 4th line minutes and smith seems to have earned the 3rd line center gig looking at last years faceoff numbers and his new contract. On the wings, mcstache has already confirmed silf on line one, so it comes down to lats vs greening for line two, and that's a battle i expect lats to win.

Methot-Karlsson
Wiercioch-Gonchar
Phillips-Borowiecki/Benoit/Lundin(when healthy)

I still think the sens want to add here. With the condensed schedule and a couple of old farts, we're going to need to carry 7 or even 8 dmen, but sitting someone like borowiecki two out of every three games might not make that much sense for his development. Either way, i think the top pairing is set, and gonchar and phillips will be split up, leaving the #4 and #6 spots open as well as at least one spot in the pressbox.

Anderson
Bishop

Lehner will get a chance in camp, but i dont see any way they keep him up unless andy struggles over the course of his first few starts. With 48 games, and an AHL schedule far less condensed than the NHL one (facilitating callups on days off), it's concievable that we see all three goalies for ~10 games each.
