IMO, i think smith would be more capable of making a bone headed decision. weve seen it before in denver, and even now we still see some glimpses of the old J.R. im not saying bench him in a close game ( considering he has 2 buzzer beaters this year) but i think anyone out of that lineup can make a bad move. yes that even includes the great Kidd.
I think when felton is on his game, he runs the floor very good. if hes 3 for 18 in a close game, BENCH HIM! because if u dont hes gonna put up some terrible shot and miss. But if hes on his game,(even if its just something like a 7 for 15 shot night) there is no way in the world i would bench him in a close game.

PJ is a great coach despite his poor career record.

And I'll bet a lot of money Melo does not win MVP.

I know we got off on the wrong foot in this thread, but can we at least agree that one thing worse than my pro-Nets trash-talking is Knicks fans chanting "MVP!" for Carmelo?

They were chanting that **** in ****ing mid-December. Idiots.

All teams do it with their superstars. Carmelo is justified because he'll at least be a candidate. I just don't see him winning over Durant or Lebron.

Meh. I wouldn't do it if I were a Knicks fan.

Not to be morbid, but the guy could blow out his knee next week. Would be still be an MVP candidate then?

IMO, wait until mid-March to start the MVP chants.

i think if ur player is playing like an mvp, u should chant. i know melo, definitley deserves to be in the conversation of mvp for first half of season.

If Avery Johnson were still coach, we would have lost at least four of those games I'd bet. What a difference a coach who actually has a clue of what to do makes. I admit I've never really been a huge PJ fan but so far he is doing as good a job as one could and everyone is playing better and playing off their strengths. For the time being, color me one happy Nets fan.

Avery is a good coach, he's just very stubborn. He gave up on Brooks and Teletovic, and Humphries to a certain extent. Once Lopez went down and Blatche had to start, Avery had no idea how to manage the bench while maintaining the doghouse that those 3 players were apparently in. That's why the Nets sucked all month and that's why he got canned. Avery was effectively using a 1 man bench with Watson.

Notice that Brooks and Teletovic are back in the rotation (more so Brooks) and Lopez is 100%, and the team is winning consistently again. It's not a coincidence.

After the Knicks/Celtics game, Carmelo waited outside the Celtics bus for Garnett to come by. Apparently Melo got very upset with some KG trash talk.

What a baby.

and they are 1 game back of the #1 seed right now. whats your point?

Though their record might not show it, Mavs are the worst team in the league in my opinion.

The Bobcats are the worst. The Wizards without Wall are second. The Hornets are third.

KG is relentless with the trash talk on the court. He once told Villanueva that he's a Cancer patient. Not surprised that Melo got ticked. He's not tough mentally. He gets a technical in every game the Knicks lose, it seems. Such a baby.

On the court, it's part of the game. Clearly bothered Melo as he shot like crap all night.

Can you imagine what you'd say if Dubinsky came out and said that Ryan Carter hurt his feelings?

Didn't he take a shot at someone's (Duncan?) dead mom? At some point he needs to get his ass handed to him. You say something like that in an NHL head and someone is going to take your head off.
