Prayers go out to the Moore family. That's a terrible thing to go through.

Anyway, I liked Moore when he played here. He would definitely help out our bottom 6.

If he decides to play this year, have him center the third line, move Boyle to the wing and have a line of:

Hagelin - Moore - Boyle

And why is Boyle playing RW over Pyatt?

Any addition means either Halpern or Asham sits with Haley.

I would be fine with Moore, man his brother gets clocked by Bertuzzi then this, tough stuff.

I am fine with Winchester, Moore, Fehr, Dvorak, etc as long as they come cheap
I highly doubt they'd sign Moore as a spare forward. If anything it bumps Rupp, Halpern or Asham to 13th forward duties. He's better than all three -- except when it comes to fighting obviously.

Paul Ranger as another D would be interesting. I'd be surprised to see him come back into the NHL to be a depth guy though. Figure he would would want to join a squad where there was less of a logjam ahead of him. That being said, I've heard he's really looking good with the Marlies. Really loved him with Tampa. Very talented kid.

Very sad to hear his wife passed.

I would definitely bring in Dom. Excellent third liner, and while he and Rangers management had their issues in the past, it's a different time now. This team is much different. Bring him in.

Nash - Richards - Callahan
Kreider - Stepan - Gaborik
Hagelin - Moore - Pyatt
Rupp - Boyle - Asham

Extra: Haley or Halpern

Suddenly looks a lot deeper to me...

Agreed. He's a good depth player, wouldn't mind if he was signed, but also wouldn't be surprised if he sat out this year

Also, I always wonder if he is disliked in the locker room or something. For a pretty good player who has always played for pretty cheap, he has bounced around a lot and had some issues catching on with a team long term

So I blast a post about this earlier, and now it's an actual reality?

I can't stand this guy. He's become the kind of player he despised after the Steve Moore incident. Is bitterness seems evident with every shift.

I will say I was sad to hear about his wife passing away after a battle with liver cancer. Horrible..

RIP. Cancer is a terrible thing.

It would be great to cheer for him on our side this year though. Moore shows up in the playoffs and would be a great addition.

Moore has spent more time on a 3rd line than Boyle has... I think it would come down to chemistry with line mates.. To me, Boyle has had a lot of success on a grinding line, but maybe he would be great with Hagelin and Pyatt... who knows. Tortorella changes lines 50 times a game anyway so it doesn't matter what you write down on paper.

Moore? Would be a perfect fit. Get him. We need another tenacious player on the 3rd/4th line to pick up some of the slack left from the Prust/Fedotenko exodus. And he can score more than those two.

Terrible about his wife. Thats just terrible.

Too many people on these boards forget who our coach is, Torts LOVES Boyle! Boyle is not going to get displaced from the 3rd line center position for Dom Moore, everyone here wanted Anisimov to center the 3rd line and Boyle on the 4th... how did that work out? Artie is gone and the job belongs to Boyle. Moore plays a lot of wing and I could see him pushing Pyatt down to the 4th line if he signed here.

Easy choice to make.

Moore is a MUCH better player than Boyle and that's at both ends of the ice and on special teams.

I would like to know about the comments he made.

seems to me it may not have been that bad. I usually remember guys that bad mouth the Rangers. Don't remember Moore doing that, but I could have missed that

It worked out that AA is a better fit at LW than Boyle was.

Nothing more, nothing less

I agree Moore is a step ahead of Boyle currently but I don't think it's a large gap.

As far as the off ice stuff, Moore did criticize the rangers last time around. I forget the exact quote(s) but it had something to do with the organization not giving the younger players a chance.

Also on the ice, he has just done some sneaky dirt things. He has had run-ins with our team a couple of times.

Moore, a third-round pick in 2000, signed with the New York Rangers and joined their AHL affiliate the Hartford Wolf Pack for most of two seasons. He played five games for the Rangers in 2003-04, getting three assists in his NHL debut – becoming only the second Rangers player to record three points in a first game.

After scoring 19 goals for the Wolf Pack in the lockout season in 2004-05, Moore earned a spot with the Rangers and played in all 82 regular-season games and four in the playoffs. Moore had nine goals and nine assists, playing mostly a fourth-line role with a plus/minus rating of plus-4.

Despite the strong season, Moore was dealt to Pittsburgh in a three-way trade with Nashville that netted the Rangers current Lightning forward Adam Hall.

“That’s the New York Rangers way,” Moore said. “It’s the toughest organization of all to break in with because, even more so before the lockout, they tend to buy players instead of developing them. To break in there was an accomplishment in itself.”

Dom would be a great fit on the ice for sure. Sign me up. That's terrible about his wife. Hope he and his family can get through this as easy as possible.

i don't see why the organization would hold a player being upset that he was traded away against him...those comments were out of anger that he was leaving imo

I can't believe he'd play this season...I know I'd have zero interest in playing a game after my wife....can't even say it. you know what i mean.

I think some people construed it as sour grapes. I don't have a problem with it, especially now.

I think Moore would be a good addition to this team. He's a smart player who could fill in at a couple of spots.

Right. I can see why they would say it at the time, but after all these years? Just silly at this point, IMO.
