What is the market for Schneider, a starter with sixty NHL games? Tampa GM Yzerman got apparent starter and thirty-eight game veteran Lindback (and an AHL center along with a seventh round pick) for two second round picks, a third the next year and Sebastien Caron (a rental left unsigned).

Did Lindback win the starting job over Rinne in the playoffs? Or have stellar stats without having two franchise defensemen playing in front of him?

I really wish we had traded Schneider to Philly for the Columbus pick (Couts) before they signed Bryzgalov. Major miss by Gillis. I also now wish we had taken Schenn + for Luongo at the draft this year. If JVR could play RW we'd be pretty well off with that three way.

I think Gillis waited too long on this one.

More? Yes. A hell of a lot more? I don't think so, unless of course you are a Canuck fan!
It's a tough call and is what makes decsions like this exciting given the ramifications down the road.
A case can be made for either choice but I would give the edge to keeping Schneider over Lou as Lou is on the decline while Schneider is most definately on the rise in a big way.

Some other young stud. Couturier, Yakupov, Huberdeau, Gardiner, etc would all have to be on the table for any interested team.(obviously their values differe drastically, some would need to add to get Schneider, and one we'd need to add to get)

I'd want Kadri or Finn involved, even if that meant a lesser pick.

I'm gonna step outside the box for a second, and add to the deal significant peices actually to gauge value

To Toronto Maple Leafs

(G) Corey Schneider
(C) Ryan Kesler
Vancouver 4th Round Pick 2013

To Vancouver Canucks

(D) Jake Gardiner
(C) Nazem Kadri
Toronto 1st round pick 2013

As is the deal in any trade with the Leafs, I don't even pick up the phone unless you can offer me a player with a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg.

And we would do this... why? Even setting aside the horrendous mismatch of value. Who plays center?

Ridiculous. Changing Kadri to Kessel almost gets you there.

We give you the two best pieces in the trade, and if it happened, your team, at a discount...why....exactly?

Pass... giving up anywhere near that kind of package for Schneider just reeks of Vesa Toskala all over again.

Wouldn't trade Kesler alone for that package.

Kesler + Schneider(or Luongo) for Kessel + Grabovski I could get behind.

Given that Schneider is more valuable than Markstrom then Markstrom is worth a couple of 2nds and a third at most. good luck convincing Florida of that.

There is no way Cory has the value that some of these Canuck fans think, trade Lou and watch him win, keep Cory and lose..... It's simple

You're assuming Maelstroms value is the same as Lindbacks, which is a huge assumption. I think Markstrom's potential and trade value are significantly greater, but that is just IMO.

Non Canuck fan saying Schneider is worth way more. Easily. If we didn't already have Varlamov, I would love Schneider. I could see him as a top 5 goaltender in the league soon.

Here's a guy that has never watched Schneider.
After watching him for two years as a Moose season ticket holder, IMO he was the best goalie in the ahl. He is that good.
