This. He's 10th at best on the depth chart, it basically has to be a condition of his coming out to help the Bulldogs. Fair enough.

I have a question. If you're going to invite Commodore, means you're looking for a big bad bruising stay-at-home d-man. Might as well invite Tinordi ! I mean i know the guy is still in his rookie pro year, making some mistakes and whatnot, but if he's to learn at a pro level, might as well let him learn in the NHL ! Most of the aspects of his game are already at an NHL caliber, so we don't we take advantage of his current upside and use this time to mentor him more, him being around pros and not rookies !?

Plus maybe to see if he can still contribute at the NHL level if they need him. We have 9 d-men but if we trade 1 or 2 and somebody gets hurt #10 can quickly be #6.

My sentiments exactly. Isn't Commadore being in Hamilton supposed to be for the benefit of the young guys?

I don't think so unless injuries hit hard again or he picks up his play.

No real rush. I'm a huge fan of Gallagher's bit he will benefit the most from a full season in the AHL.

If he has a camp like he did last year, I don't see how he doesn't make the roster. He'd have to take a spot away from a guy but he's a tenacious sob and Therrien LOVES those types of players. I could see him on a line with Armdog and Eller.

I agree with this. Theres not a whole lot to get excited about when it comes to the dogs.

I am hoping we improve our defence (for this shortened season) somehow, but this isn't it.

He's a pretty similar player to what Leblanc was last year (maybe a bit behind). If there are injuries on RW he might merit a spot but he's probably remaining in Hamilton.

If he's ok with sitting out until injury/horrible play, I think that's great. He isn't the worst D out there so serviceable if we're desperate for someone with experience. (Although I'm confident we are already pretty deep with Cube, Kaberle and Emelin/Diaz def. being NHL caliber.)

Lets try to post in the appropriate threads instead of making new ones that aren't needed. Thanks.

From what I've been keeping up on the Dogs, Tinordi has leaps and bounds to go. The kind of things he has to learn are best learned in the AHL. We do not need him going through the rushing and then stunting development process. If you meant invite to camp, yeah, of course, but I thought he might be anyway. Galchenyuk should be on the team if anyone (as well as some other players before Tinordi). That said, I don't want Gally anywhere near our NHL roster for at least a year, preferably two depending on how the rest of our lineup looks next year. I'm all for learning the ropes of the NHL, but in every instance (good or bad, Pacioretty or Latendresse), it seems as though extended time with the Dogs makes you a better player when you get to the NHL. Once Tinordi is dominant in the AHL, then consider. He is not.

I would take him back too for two reasons:

1) Loves playing in MTL

2) IMO, he was/is a great winger! I don't get where all the negativity comes from regarding his play. His numbers were very very respectable despite being shuffled all the time. I feel as though people lump him in with Kovalev who did have his ups and downs. AK was always dangerous when on the ice. The only area of concern was backchecking and in the past two seasons, he completely erased my concerns about that. Also, big hitter! He was one of my favourite forwards in terms of raw ability and again, he lived up to it. That said, I am expecting Bourque to bounce back.

BTW...Markov IS coming back, right? I know Kovalchuk might stay longer in the KHL, but Bobby Mac mentioned Markov in the same breath, although alluding to perhaps one extra game, but ya never know. Markov seems pretty loyal to the Habs, so I'm guessing/hoping he really did just mean a game or two.

Yeah ahving three 5"6 players on the team is a bit disturbing. Gallagher - DD - Gio would be the most depressing line to watch play hockey.

Markov became a Canadian citizen for no other reason other than the fact he wanted to. He'll be back.

A.K is in florida for camp.

Commodore will get a chance and likeky cut, but yz never know, he may fit into the scheme for the year better than others.

As for trading with the islanders....i'd rather keep Weber and move Kaberle for a 7th. Give Weber a real chance to get into the grove defensively and see what he can do. Its his last RFA year.

He'll get a look during camp and a chance to earn a spot. If he just misses out, a full year in Hamilton isnt too shabby either. Dumont, is a good choice as a 3-4 liner
