Again it comes down to a half season vs a full season.
Your scouting report on Kassian is completely wrong. He is a skilled PF. I hear people comparing him to Lucic, and I always ask if they have seen him play. Kassian's skill set is much better, if he can put it together is another story, but they are not the same type of players. The best comparison would be like a Bertuzzi, both great skaters, puck handlers and passers.
Bertuzzi was an elite PWF, Kassian doesn't have the same skill as him, that is an outlandish statement.
You can take out Lombardi and Ballard since they are both salary dumps, and Bozak would make Lombardi redundant for us. Ballard still has some value for us; Alberts instead of Ballard makes sense to make room for Franson on the depth chart.
The question marks surrounding Kadri revolve around his ability to play with full grown, aggressive men.
There are no questions of whether or not Kassian can hang with the big boys.
Again, I have no issue with anyone preferring either player. But picking 1 doesnt make someone a homer.
Personally I would probably take Kassian because I think the Leafs need his size and physical play but I see an argument for either player.
I have been saying Kadri + Finn + Franson + Connolly for the last bit here.
Really when you look at it, Kadri and Finn both provide some value to Vancouver but are fairly expendable to Toronto.
Connolly and Franson both fill depth roles in Vancouver and are essentially bought for cents on the dollar.
I'm okay with that trade.
Really not sure on Burke though. He could prefer Reimer + vet (if he could get one) and I would understand his logic. Were I Burke, though, I would make that trade I think.
I'm still predicting he ends up with Florida in the offseason but I would welcome high end goaltending to Toronto. With Luongo in control for the next few years and hopefully Reimer or another prospect emerging shortly after that we could be looking good in that position.
Kassian is a 6-3 215 menace on skates, you can't compare him to Kadri, and using stats to do it makes it even worse... Personally I'd take Kassian...
I wanted Kassian at the draft. Unless we traded back, it would have been a bad spot to take him at 5. I probably would take Kassian over Kadri now; both haven't proven their NHL value yet, but you can't question his size. Kadri is a top 6 or bust, where Kassian has a little bit of leeway if he falters offensively.
If there is a trade for Lu, the main piece coming from the Leafs is Bozak...

Wouldn't the Canucks be interested in acquiring Bozak and Connolly?
Bozak/Connolly fill in the 2nd and 3rd line C roles until Kesler returns, and when he does Connolly gets shifted over to the RW where he can feed pucks to Kesler+Booth...
Was it the same table Sedin was hiding under during the LA series?
The Sedins don't hide, they wait

But he wasn't elite. Good to know.
Power Forwards tend to take longer to put it all together. We'll see how he does this year after understanding the conditioning Vancouver wanted him to do. He is in much better shape now. Much faster.

You mean how both were PPG?
Henrik was easily our MVP apart from goaltending. And I guess you could say Daniel was hiding the first 3 games...coming off a concussion and not having played in them...

I think you spell Keith Ballard wrong, it's no where close to Luongo. Next time please check your spelling before posting.
Speculation from the biggest names in hockey insiders have frequently said Bozak is the main piece coming from T.O, now I'm assuming Burke is willing to give up some of our D prospect depth, ie. Blacker and is too afraid to move 1sts, thus a 2nd.

If that is the case, i would much rather have Gillis not trading Luongo at all. Keeping two goalies in a short season is a great idea.
I think Leafs fans should find a consensus on whether or not they should start trying to contend(maybe attracting a UFA like Weiss/Zajac/maybe even Getzlaf) now, or trade away their key players like Phaneuf, Lupul, etc for prospects/picks for a rebuild...again.
Very disheartened by the amount of Leafs fans that actually want a deal for Luongo to happen.
I'm just disappointed.
Luongo is an elite goalie, it's a rare situation where we may be able to acquire him for below trade value because of the situation, Luongo makes us a playoff team and a more desirable destination for free agents.
I dislike the Nucks, but I'm not letting that blind me from the facts.
