Guys on the bubble like Strome, Hamilton, Schiefele and to a lesser degree Murphy and Faksa, Laughton (whom have been confirmed to be attending their teams camps) make things interesting for their respective teams.

In Kitchener it is assumed Murphy and Faksa will be returned. I imagine the same for Laughton in Oshawa, but it certainly makes those teams hold their breath.

As for Barrie and Schiefele, its tough because they could add and make a good run, but do they do it without knowing that their center piece on the team may not be back?

Niagara has is even worse with both Hamilton and Strome. Both players would have brought a fortune, but who will trade for them and make a run, all the while passing on other players who are certain to remain in the OHL? So not only does it hurt Niagara in terms of tending to their own agenda, but teams who may have been inquiring no longer will because what good does going for it do you if the horses you add dont show up for the race?

I dont believe we will see Barrie or Niagara deal these players, or make an significant moves simply because how can they without throwing a dart at the board with a blindfold on?

Trochek did look good on the big ice in Ufa. Don't think Saginaw have too many cards left so one player and picks would likely work for them. They already have four '96's signed so not sure if they could take on Petti.

Depth move? A 93?

I know its not a difference maker deal but Is windsor trying to move up a bit in the standings, hoping to grab at least 7th if not higher?

First things first, we need to get the 8th seed, we're 5 points out from that (though with two games on hand). We are buying - as silly as that may sound. I guess Rychel doesn't want to get penalized a 3rd or 4th overall pick.

Kitchener Rangers ‏@OHLRangers
GM Steve Spott announces trade with Petes that will bring OA forward Derek Schoenmakers to Kitchener. Full release to follow.
Another OA that makes Czinder or Alberga expendable

For sure Otto. Just took a closer look. They have their work cut out, esp if SSM can play better with new coach but its attainable with games in hand and an improved squad. I agree thou itll be a tough go.

Just a lil surprised so far with the moves but theres still time. Id a thought more bodies would be moved out , and still may be.

I figure WR believes Saginaw will tank after Trochek is moved or something. We have three cards left, so have the room for a big(ger) move yet. Still need to desperately address our defence yet.

So far this post WJC window - we've subtracted Maletta, Lorentz a 4th (in 2015) and a 7th and added Khokhlachev, Aleardi and Giftopoulos along with a 2nd (2013 or 2014) and a 6th.

Can anybody enlighten me on the Greyhounds situation?

Moving Petaccio kinda made me think they made up some space for a centerman, and that could possibly be from a deal involving Sproul, but it also just could mean that Miller and/or Gaudet have stolen a spot from Petaccio and Fritsch is healthy and set to return..

I just wanna know if anyones hear anything involving Sproul,Broll,Cousins, any of the Soo players for that matter?!

Had also heard earlier today that Dubas was in conversation with Rangers regarding Sproul....

With Baillie on waivers, the Heard rumour makes more sense.

They're saying a 3rd and a 6th for Menard on the Petes Board.

Hey looks like I finally got one right from my trade deadline preview!

Makes sense for Brampton. Great add without giving up a ton.

You can dress as many 96's as you want after the deadline.

Marty in Niagara expects Strome and Ritchie here for remainder of year. Triggering their departure out of Niagara tomorrow in all likelihood .

So,e big names are floating arou d GM,s desks tonight, big gambles also.

It doesn't matter what Marty expects... it's what the other GM's expect.

Best he can get is a huge conditional draft pick package for each. Ie London trades 4 conditional 12th rounders that become four second rounders if Strome plays 10 games in London this year sorta deal.
