Am I a bad person for hoping that Quincey and O'Brien end up getting injured during these scrimmages?

I thought the constant bashing of O'Brien might stop but apparently not. I guess we can expect more of that and more of you defending everything Stastny does?

As for Quincey, no one really cares about him. No idea why that bum is still in Denver instead being with his teammates in Detroit.

The guy can win the Norris and I won't stop bashing him.

He lives in Denver, and I could be wrong, but I think Svatos and Budaj also still have places in Denver.

I don't think Svatos and Budaj are signed though. Both of them are free agents where as Quincey is with the Wings. I just really don't like Quincey, wasn't a big fan when he played for the Avs and then he acted like a little baby when he was traded.

Svatos is getting a tryout with the Panthers and Budaj is still with the Canadiens.

Budaj is signed with Montreal for this next season and Svatos isn't but will tryout with Florida.

Nobody here really likes Quincey, but him living in Denver is probably the main reason he is scrimmaging with Avs players. Familiarity with them is also probably a factor.

My esteemed colleague @Russostrib clarifies that it's possible now that Avs could open at HOME on Jan. 19 against Minnesota Wild

So we might get the home game still yet. Looks like a good chance our first game will be against the Wild though.

Never mind then.

I read about Svatos but had no idea Budaj was still with the Habs.

He's shooting it down because it might not be true. Russo has updated his blog:

Quote:
Could be a false alarm with this original blog. The Wild still is expected to open the 48-game regular season Jan. 19, but it may not be at home.

That will be a big disappointment to a lot of fans because Jan. 19 is Hockey Day Minnesota, but there is a chance now the Wild opens on the road. The schedule is still being developed and should be released once the players ratify the deal, which should be Saturday. But the Wild could very well open on the road Jan. 19 and at home Jan. 20.

The opponent may still be Colorado both nights.
http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/186085411.html

If the two teams are playing a back to back, then the Avs would have to open at home on the 19th since the Nuggets play at the Pepsi Center on the 20th.

I really really hope we open at home on the 19th...you guys think it'll be a nightmare trying to find tickets to the game?

It was a rumour in the first place, but Dater's attitude is that of a selfish twelve year old kid wanting to be right all the time and shoots down everyone else.

Yeah, I hope it's the 19th too. Would be nice to go to the Avs on Saturday and (as long as we beat Baltimore) the AFC Championship on Sunday.

Just like Stastny could win the Hart and Conn Smythe and you guys wouldn't cut him any slack.

I'm really excited to see Duchene in the NHL again, I think the Spengler cup was really the boost he needed. If Hejduk's looking himself again without the C, and Parenteau clicks this could get very VERY interesting.

Any words on Varlamov? He's for sure coming back right? Varlamov would be a way bigger loss than O'Reilly if he doesn't come back, we can't exactly run with Giguere as the starter.

Oh he's definitely coming back if not on his way here already. It's quite the trip from Russia back to the States.
