Just heard a reliable scouting report on him, looks like we're fine. Won't unseat Hiller, but should be a pretty good backup for him, which is exactly what we're expecting/wanted.

Good thing he didn`t signed with our opponents, because he`d do that everytime Perry is near.

What do you expect of him? I have the feeling that he will be great! Very competitve, and I'm optimistic, Jonas and he will form a top 5 tandem in this league!

I don`t think we`ll see anything spectacular from Fasth.
Hopefully he`ll be at least ok backup, though

He does have some nice stats overseas, but i`d really like to see him on NA ice first. Now, start the season as Fasth as possible to check out

I hope he pans out, we could have some excellent trade bait here with Hiller, Fasth, and Gibson progressing.

Still 0 games in smaller rinks (NA). Let's be cautious here.

If Fasth struggles for some reason, we still have Deslauriers, who can be a decent backup. I think Fasth will be good though, and I expect him to be at least as good as Dan Ellis.

Let's hope for the best. With more games crammed into a shortened season any team with a solid tandem in goal could have an advantage. Every little bit helps, especially in goal.

Hiller has played 59, 49, and 73 games the last 3 years. If he's healthy, we won't see ANY backup for more than 5-7 games IMO, and that will be decided by the number of back to back games.

I'm never a fan of playing any goalie more than 65 games in an 82 game season. Goalies with high workloads tend to fade in the playoffs with very few exceptions - a prime Brodeur being one of them.

With the shortened season it probably changes things a bit but I'd still like to see Hiller spelled at least 2 out of every 10 games. So ideally Fasth starts at least 10 games.

Of note, a prime Brodeur also had, pretty consistently, one of the best blue lines in the league back there with him. I think that can go a long way towards easing a goaltender's workload, on a shot-by-shot basis, if not a game-by-game one.

I will go even more into OT into this, but in team sports you can`t achieve great results league-wide unless you have great teammates supporting you.

I`d say it`s a mix between Giguere and Ellis masks

I like simple and retro style more.

Maybe those 2 extra eyes makes Fasth catching the pucks better

Gibson not going to camp, because Bruce said that Fasth have the backup spot already

This is not a normal camp so it's ok! Gibson should dominate the OHL this year and stay another or two at eh AHL then. Anaheim is taking it slow with prospects and that's great for them!

Honestly, Fasth will be a good backup, the best we had since Hiller!

Totally my thoughts about the camp. The only benefit i could see Gibson taking of invite would be sniffig the air a bit of NHL camp and players, but he already have been to 1, so i don`t think it`d be too irreplacable for him. And with Fasth, Andersen and Bobkov behind the Hiller currently, Gibby should see some AHL time first anyway. We all know that goalies ar more complicated in development than the skaters.

I`ll see Fasth in action first, and then make the judgment. I have my fingers crossed he`s the real deal, but i want to see first, to get excited.

Gibson, when eligible is better off being a starter in the AHL than a backup in the NHL. I don't think we'll see him in Anaheim (except as an injury call up) until he's ready to challenge for the #1 spot, or until he's older and possibly not making progress in the minors anymore. Similar situation to Jacob Markstrom in Florida and Robin Lehner in Ottawa.

Yup, no question about that. It's the only way to go, really.

I do like Fasth's mask, by the way. Can't remember seeing a half/half-cage in a while.
