Hornqvist Legwand Wilson
Kostitsyn Fisher Erat
Bourque Spaling Smith
Halischuk Gaustad Mueller(or Latta)

Weber Josi
Klein Hannan
Gill Ellis(or Blum)

Rinne
Mason

I expect the Predators are still shopping for 1 more top six forward and 1 more top four D via trade, but not sure what the timeline is for that.

Intrestingly, Tom Poti (Remember him?!) might be able to participate in Washington's camp if given the greenlight by doctors as he's not pain-free.

Quote:
Poti, bothered by a groin injury and fractured pelvis, hasn't played in an NHL game since Jan. 12, 2011. General manager George McPhee has said in the past he did not expect the defenseman to be able to play again. Poti has been on injured reserve since getting hurt.

To be able to skate at training camp, Poti must get clearance from team doctors and trainers. He believes that will happen.
I've been busting my ass these last two years. It's been a long process, a long two years going through all kinds of rehab and all kinds of therapy and working with my trainer and just trying to keep my sanity by not playing hockey, Poti said. I'm pretty confident that they'll give me a shot and it's up to me what I do with it and how I go out and perform.
Poti, 35, has one year left on his contract, with a cap hit of $2.875 million.
Good for him if it happens. That said, it would have to throw a monkey wrench into the Caps plans for the season, as it would give them 9 NHL level defencemen in camp (Poti, Green, Hamrlik, Carlson, Alzner, Schultz, Erskine, Orlov and Hillen), maybe they'll move Jeff Schultz to Edmonton so they can corner the market on Schultzes.

Pickles = Vlasic?

Why?
Edit: NVM I get it. I've never seen Vlasic Pickles before though.

Cervenka is apparently healthy and should be attending camp. Tanguay said in an interview yesterday that there is a good chance he will be playing center this season with Iginla helping out on faceoffs. Also Horak and Backlund have been playing wing all year so far and doing well. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this within the next few weeks:

Baertschi - Tanguay - Iginla
Glencross - Cammalleri - Hudler
Backlund - Cervenka - Horak
Stempniak - Stajan - Jackman

(Bouma - Jones - Comeau)

Bouwmeester - Wideman
Giordano - Brodie
Butler - Sarich

(Smith - Babchuk)

Kiprusoff
Irving

(Karlsson)

Phoenix's 1st and 2nd lines for both forwards and defense probably will be switched

Scuderi - Doughty
Mitchell - Voynov

That team has no protector, really not enough players with constent grit in their game.

Looking at other line-up:
-Are the Ava really going to play a special talent like Duschenes on the 3rd line?
- Calgary needs centermen ASAP.
- Is Pronger retired? Flyers D core is mediocre with him and Carle out of there.

Carolina doesn't have a "protector" but they are filled with gritty forwards.

To answer your questions:

- Not really sure on the Avs situation and if ROR is a 2C or 3C
- That's why they drafted Jankowski, Calgary knows they won't challenge this year (or it would be a surprise)
- Pronger is not retired, no timetable for his return - yes, Philly's d-core is extremely weak.

Nokelainen is hurt and won't be ready for the start of camp.

I'm more surprised no one has J Schwarz on their lineups. Pretty sure he's going to be with the team, and he's not a guy I'd want to waste in the press box.

Avs roll kind of a 1a-1b-1c-4 forward group. All three top lines are regular contributors. The top line there won't get as much PP time as Duchene or Stastny's line. Although this could change in 2013.

The only real Camp battle will be between Schwartz and D'Agostini.
D'Agostini has a lot of things in his favor that Schwartz would have to overcome.

Could happen, but with a short TC and Schwartz not being eligible for waivers, it just isn't likely.

I think not. The plan is to not have an enforcer dressed every night, hence why they couldn't re-sign George Parros. His chance is probably if Brad Staubitz get injured long term, but even then he would have to sign an NHL deal first.

Thanks. I Forgot Staubitz signed with Anaheim. Rosehill has actually been having a good year with Norfolk. Hopefully he gets a shot at some point.

Both KH and Babcock have stated that Helm is the 3rd line center. Abdelkader just got a pretty good extension so he'll be playing. Ericsson proved he's a top four defenseman last year and would be perfect for Smith in my opinion. Unless something drastic happens in camp, these are my expectations for the first game:

Nyquist - Datsyuk - Franzen
Filppula - Zetterberg - Brunner
Cleary - Helm - Samuelsson
Bertuzzi - Abdelkader - Tootoo
Miller, Mursak, Emmerton, Eaves (IR)

Kronwall - White
Smith - Ericsson
Quincey - Kindl
Colaiacovo

Howard
Gustafson

We have nice forward depth. Samuelsson could take Nyquist's spot in the top six (which is really dumb if it happens), just because he's a RH shot. Brunner is an unknown, but apparently Babcock has a ton of confidence in him.

The defense is a shaky, depends on how well Smith produces (Ericsson is the perfect partner for him). But I think the good defensive forwards will take some pressure off of them, as Babcock recently stated they need to play better defensively as an entire team this year.

Jimmy is great, Gustavsson is a toss-up.

Whatcha guys think? We're still playoff contenders but it will be tough to win the cup unless the rookies produce.
