Weise 2 inches taller, 10 lbs heavier....Matt Frattin is a minor leaguer (with potential to be more), you're willing to trade a multi-time vezina nominee, hart nominee, and best goalie in franchise history for a minor leaguer?

See guys, I don't mind Frattin as a player, but he is most certainly redundant. He could develop into an NHLer, but this is a team pushing for a cup, not developing a 25 year old winger for the 4th line.

DTS is suggesting he's an upgrade on Dale Weise....is an upgrade on Dale Weise the difference between winning and losing the cup?

For real this time, I'm done with this Luongo thread, see ya in the next one.

Frattin reminds me of Kunitz. You win with guys like that.

Bozak, Frattin, 1st fits the roster player, prospect, pick mould.

If we get their first it makes it easier to swallow, still not a fan of Bozak though.

Have to think that if Toronto got Luongo, he'd make them a lot better IMO, and could make that 1st worse. Don't think that 1st round pick will be top 10, and certainly not top 5 with Luongo in net. I feel TO could squeak into a playoff spot with Luongo.

Grabovski is who I've wanted from the beginning. I'm not going to start getting my hopes up unless they trade for another centre.

Imagine if they included the first and he pulls his groin

Who knows? Obviously Luongo makes the odds worse for us getting a good pick, but in a shortened season, anything can happen (injuries, slumps) and every team that misses the playoffs has a chance at the #1 pick...Even if they do make the playoffs its a deep draft this year...makes it more tempting.

They don't need another centre, they would have Bozak and JVR.

Would be nice to finally have a draft pick that is higher up to get a high quality player.

I would MUCH rather have Grabovski.

Make it a conditional 1st, but they have to throw in the next years 1st and default their 2nd (or 3rd and 4th) if they its conditional. They can do that as long as they want lol.

TG really touted Chicago as a destination... do the Hawks have anything to offer?

A deep prospect pool and more apt to trade their 1st?

I'd insist on Kane. But then, I don't think a trade goes down between these two teams. TG is out to lunch here IMO.

It's the same logic used by those who seem to think Bozak and Frattin are viable options for the Canucks to trade Luongo to Toronto. Apparently everyone is auditioning for a position with sportsnet.

Bozak walks as a UFA

Frattin means we have to let Higgins and Raymond walk as UFAs

we'd better get a first because well probably lose Higgins/Raymond to keep Frattin

I really can't say I have a good idea of what Luongo's trade value is or will end up being. Or even if he will get traded. Anything could happen.

But some people here need to realize if a trade gets done you're not just trading Luongo. You're trading his contract as well. As a Leaf fan I want Luongo the player. I don't want Luongo the contract.

If Luongo was a UFA, and he cost nothing but money, there isn't a team in the league that would give him the contract he has now.

So, if I'm a GM, I'm not giving up significant assets for the privilege of picking up a contract I wouldn't have given him in the first place.

In a country that's 17% bilingual, you make this statement. You, sir, are delusional.

Frattin makes 925k. He'd provide nice insurance in case someone offers Higgins a deal that we can't match.

Except that GMs have given contracts like this to UFAs. Kovalchuk and Hossa come to mind. So when you say there isn't a team in the league that would give player X said contract, it's patently false. GMs would, and GMs have. There is precedent. That speaks more than your opinion.

Remember that it's Luongo. It takes him a month to get going. By that time in this shortened season, they'll be out of the playoffs. A full season would be a different story.
