I think he said that it was Ufa to Helsinki and then to London where their flight got cancelled for 12 hours. Then to Vancouver? Or maybe Toronto and then Vancouver.

Either way it would suck.

I'd like to see Lander and Paajarvi down on the farm all year long TBH. If Vande Velde or hell even Tanner House makes more sense as a 4C or W I'd be down with it.

1. Hall
2. RNH
3. Eberle
4. Hemsky
5. Gagner
6. Yakupov
7. Smyth
8. Horcoff
9. Belanger
10. Eager
11. Hordichuk
12. Petrell
13. Paajarvi
14. Hartikainen
15. Jones (Injured)

Don't know whether the 15 confirmed was including Jones with the injury. If not, perhaps Lander gets a look at camp.
I hope to hell this guy steps up and makes this year's squad at some point. He's not the most naturally skilled player, but he's an amazing worker and a great character guy and can do a much better job in that 4th line role than Ben Eager. Exactly someone this young team needs, regardless of how well they do. There is a very good reason he's been getting solid minutes in the NHL with poor stats for almost a decade.

I agree. All Eager has going for him is a few more points, but that's not really the reason for an agitator/goon. You know Hordi will go out there and lay some big hits, and draw a few penalties to boot

On New Year's Day, I pulled off Tangier-Tarifa-Malaga-Barcelona-Vienna-Frankfurt-Bangkok-Jakarta.

Well, I shouldn't say New Year's Day, since I arrived in Jakarta on the afternoon of the 3rd. THAT was tiringgggg!

*However, I didn't have to go straight to a pro hockey practice, so he has my sympathy *

I would definitely like to hear a confirmation of yak sometime soon. Getting pretty nervous as time goes on.

According to this:

http://www.khl.ru/news/2013/1/9/57152.html (if you use chrome hit translate ... for some reason the release isn't on the english site)

Aside from Visnovsky, it looks like only Kovy plans on not coming back for the start of camp.

I wouldn't be surprised if Yakupov played Neftekhimik's next game tomorrow before flying in for camp. I suspect that's why he's been quiet lately.

Yilkes, there are direct flights from London to Edmonton... Just not occuring every day of the week. He might have been better off waiting a day for one of those rather than waiting on a endless series of layovers.

He wanted to visit his parents at home in Vancouver before the season started. He's still only 19.

I don't get why travel is so long from Ufa. My buddy works in Iraq and it generally only takes him a day to get back here.

edit: Nevermind I see the talk above of why he is taking a while to return.

I'm not saying the Oilers should use this as an intro song for the entire season, but for their first home game it would be pretty badass.

Change the title to "Hit the Ice" and it's perfect, even the lyrics-haha!

**** knowing the Oilers their intro song is gonna be that stupid ass song from Psy.

Actually they just tend to play those songs during the game. The goal song and the opening song tend to be an older hit.

Probably be something like Kickstart my Heart.
