I understand fully why you didn't but you should have titled this "Kovy trying out with the Florida Panthers."

Lulz would have ensued.

Alexei Kovalev isn't good enough for the NHL anymore which is a shame as some of his greatest moments have been in Pittsburgh colours. He hasn't got the vision he used and isn't as good attacking wise as he used to be so is pretty ineffective.

Make it Kovy, just so I can see them dangles!

Make Kovy and Huberdeau room together too.

can't hurt to invite him to camp, I can't imagine they would keep him, but if he is motivated he could probably play his way onto a team. he is an insane talent will be fun for the young guys to practice with him at least

He'd actually be pretty useful if you put him on the team as a 4th liner who played a lot on the PP.

It appears that the Panthers have the GOAT team. Kovalev, Kostitsyn...all they need is to get Hasek in.

The much more interesting note is the Kostitsyn tryout. Andrei has never fully lived up to his potential and has essentially only played with one team for his career (other than the brief rental period with the Preds). And that one team had one of the most intense media/fan followings in the league.

A market like Florida is so night and day to Montreal that it's an interesting storyline to follow if he should catch on.

Chances are Kovy and Svatos are both done at the big league level though.

Kovy needs to retire. AK would be a nice addition though.

I read that Kostitsyn has a contract in the KHL that has no NHL buyout clause. There are conflicting reports to him being offered a tryout with the Panthers.

I hope he makes it, would be cool to have another team to root for.

This must have been before the WJC.

And Kovy must have given him some pointers.
