If Cody Hodgson didn't get along with our coach, Nazem Kadri certainly won't either. Maybe we can flip Kadri for a 4th line goon at the deadline and really get nothing back for Luongo.

I don't know enough about the inner workings of the Hodgson situation to comment. Kadri is just looking for a chance to play, i think if he starts 3rd line he will earn top 6. I will openly admit that he got the shaft from Ron Wilson, every kid is going to make mistakes when the 1st come up to the NHL, he was never given a chance to correct them.
Randy Carlyle had nothing but praise for him late last season. I'm not trying to push him at you, i'm actually looking forward to him getting a fair shot this year.

Last year he was. Trading a 20 goal scoring rookie 3C (especially when your 2C is bothered by a bad injury) for a guy who essentially was just a 4th liner in a year you're expected to make a run for the cup was a horribly stupid move by Gillis. Especially given our pathetic offense in the playoffs. That's why I have no faith in him to get a good deal for Luongo right now.

Again, can't comment on all things Canucks. My point was, Kadri tried/is trying to rectify the things that were said to be negative with his game. This isn't the same player of old.
I've often compared his situation to that of Jason Spezza....i remember his rookie season. Ottawa would send him down and say "work on X"...he'd fix it, come back and they'd send him down again with "work on Y". This happened ALOT, to the point i thought he would demand a trade.
Now, i'm not comparing the players, just the situation. Kadri has made some good moves to improve some deficiancies in his game.
If the leafs do get luongo he is the thrid best goalie in the division behind price and miller. He will make the leafs better but their d is still a bit suspect and so is jvr and lupul.
We need Luongo in Toronto if this team's going to do anything this year. I really hope we don't give up Kadri, but if we do I'll obviously understand. The deal will have to include a center (Bozak apparently) and an NHL winger (unless another trade is going to happen as well) + a prospect/pick/whatever. We have far too many wingers and centermen going into this season.

Luongo is better than Price and Miller. I don't know how you can justify anything otherwise considering his production has consistently been better.
I really hope this trade happens. Aside from the Thrill, I think the Leafs could spare pretty much anyone (as the main trade) and get monumentally better by acquiring Roberto. I´m ready for some Leafs playoff hockey, I miss ´em in the mix.
On the one hand we lose Lu who made this team into a legit contender. DO NOT underestimate how much better he will make the leafs. It will be like night and day.
On the other hand; it will be amazing watching people cry about the return.
