...you're calling them homers while projecting Yakupov as a 50-goal scorer, and basically calling Ryan nothing more than a 30-35 goal scorer? Riiiiight.
Perfect! A proven goal scorer vs a Yak who has never touched a NHL ice rink during a regular season. No wonder I took a leave of absence from this place. The posts get horrible every year. Good point soj
Brian Burke is a huge Ryan fan and with his name being in trade rumors this past offseason I'd like to revisit what it would take for Toronto to acquire him.
We need size on the wings for sure, despite acquiring JVR.
For starters would something like this make sense for Anaheim?
Carl Gunnarson - Top 4 minutes eating D-man - only on the Leafs.
Nikolai Kulemin - Top 6 forward Top 6 forwards need to score more than 7 goals
Tyler Biggs - Potential top 6 PF - Potential.
Well...yea...because Iggy is ALOT better then Ryan is.
ALOT is a strong word.
Iginla didnt hit 30 goals till his 5th season, ryan has hit 30 4 times going into his 5th season. Iginla didnt hit 50 till his 6th season.
Maybe Bobby Ryan will join the Kings, you never know!!!
Wouldn't it be awesome if Kopitar and Ryan could continue their partnership from MORA IK (Swedish Allsvenskan league) on the No 1 Line in the NHL - Ryan - Kopy - Brown. How would any team deal with that. Gazeeelion points...

Doesn't make sense because Ducks wouldn't trade for Brown.

Only if they play their home games at the Honda Center.
And Bobby Ryan has 30 more goals than Iginla did entering his 5th season in the league. But he should only go downhill from here, clearly Iginla did.
His argument presumes his infallibility at predicting future success. He wouldn't have traded a young 60-point scoring Iginla for the amazing-potential Stefan because, well, he just wouldn't have.
In this case, his argument is that Yakupov is certainly going to score 50 goals one day, and because Ryan certainly never will, Yakupov = greater chance of Cup. There are at least 3 false leaps of logic in there, but whatever. 50 is a pretty number.
Going after Ryan would be pointless. Leafs clearly have holes down the middle. Using whatever assets we have to go after Getzlaf would be a much smarter decision. Assuming its a trade and sign deal of course.

Why trade? Ryan don't like Carlyle. (But who cares when Dallas Eakins taking over next year RIGHT BOYS!)
Also, Anaheim will be destroyed this year if Getzlaf and Perry do not resign, they are UFA, we got money flowing out of our rectums, let's stuff some money in theirs rectum pockets and then our rectums will go and pay those ****** prices and see a good team for once.

100% agree with this. Ryan is a very good player, and clearly an upgrade over some of our other wingers, but we need a Goalie, #1 C, more size and toughness on the bottom six, and a decent skating Defensive D, before we upgrade through trade on the wings. This has to be last on the priority list for Burke, unless it is an absolute fire sale.
