Well I was on the Alex Fraser but kept driving and now past the Queensborough. On the skytrain now so I guess I have no choice.....
Either way I'll just become an Oilers fan. Couldn't support an organization who willingly gives up a player like Luongo for scraps.
You're a team player, y2k - taking the leap off the bridge so the rest of us don't have to.
Oh, and with respect to whether or not teams can discuss deals, Dave Pagnotta had this to say this morning;

While talks bw teams+agents about RFAs/UFAs are on, and some GMs started talking trades again, nothing becomes official til CBA is ratified

So things can be discussed, maybe even agreed upon verbally/in principle, but nothing can be completed and made official until after the CBA has been finalized.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Y2Koilers...
I highly doubt Gillis makes a trade with Toronto for Luongo without getting a C back. Bozak may not be a bonified top6 player, yet... but his salary is only 1.5M, he's a stop gap until Kesler comes back and if he works out maybe AV will move Kesler to wing.
Frattin is a younger version of Higgins IMO. He's very streaky but plays a solid game all round, and would be an AV favourite. Nice but I'd rather have Kadri (and I'm not sold on Kadri).
If the first two pieces are Bozak/Frattin then the pick better be a 1st, if it's Bozak/Kadri I'd be okay with a 2nd. And this all under the assumption the Canucks aren't eating any of Luongo's salary and/or cap hit.
I'm gathering this is all - reportedly - being said on a radio station?
If they had any real knowledge of anything close it would have been posted on twitter by now. All just idle speculation...probably fueled by people trying to regain interest in the NHL.

exactly how i feel regarding the rumors. 1st if its frattin, 2nd if its kadri... and i'd be OKAY with it, though far from pleased
Taking a brief glimpse around the boards, I don't see anyone saying they heard this on the radio themselves. Everyone is saying "apparently, person X said on 960..."

ya... I don't think many people are going to over the moon with the return. Burke drives a hard bargain and won't overpay like we would like. People will call the players that the Canucks get in return scraps/scubs etc but they will be carefully selected players by Gillis who will fit into the Canucks system.
Again not a "Great" return but it will be a solid return.
How do leaf fans feel on including Grabovski in the deal. I realize their center depth is pretty thin, but I think a Luo for Grabovski + 2nd deal would be fair?
If Frattin and Bozak do indeed come to the west coast, won't the team have an excess of bottom 9 wingers? Higgins, Booth, Hansen, Raymond, Malhotra, Weise and Volpatti, not to mention the Wolves prospects possibly cracking the lineup. If this trade goes down, wonder whether GMMG will have to unload a winger in another deal just to clear some space?

I find it funny how they complain that their center depth is "thin", yet they are all too eager to pawn off Tyler Bozak...a guy who could be considered they're #1 center.
