Not so. All games are against the West. They are going to have it tough with no weak east teams to beat. Plus the terrible east teams should get more points this year than the bottom ones in the West.

Sherm's going to swap picks with someone and then we'll get a top pick

What spot do you think Lipon will get drafted? If he does?

I would personally draft him in the 5th round, but I can see a team gamble on him between the 3rd and 4th. That said, I still prefer drafting Andrighetto than Lipon.

Depends on where we are at the draft. If we're between 10th-20th, I say we give him a hard look because he is highly skilled with fantastic size. I would say a Clowe-McGinn comparison, but less physical though more talented.

Only problem with Mantha is he's all over the place in draft rankings. I know myself and Craig Button have him really high, but I've seen him from 8th to late 2nd round.

Andrighetto already has a contract with Geneve Servette in NLA for next season.

So? Do you think he would honestly pass up on a ELC from a NHL team just because he signed with Geneve?

I liked Arvidsson a lot too, think the Avs consider him a 6th/7th round Colin Smith type to gamble on?

We all know that every prospect we talk about for the whole season, the Avs draft someone completely opposite from left field. Hard to say, but I personally think he's worth a 6th or 7th round gamble. The same with Albert Yarullin.

Not true, I picked up Duncan Siemens a few months out of the draft after we acquired St. Louis' pick. Was happy to finally have someone I was interested in get drafted.

But seriously, it will be nice to sit down at the draft once again and watch the Avs go through the 1st round and be active. Last draft SUCKED. I don't even think I watched the 2nd-7th rounds like I usually do.

Well, i don't now just saying he already signed for next season. But who cares anyway, AVS probably won't draft any euros

Do we need more right wingers or left wingers in our system?

No, I'm pretty sure they eliminated the max slide of four spots in the lottery for the next draft. It's still a weighted system, but anyone can win the 1st overall if they get picked.

I almost hope the Avs have a bad year this year and we end up with a Top 5 pick. Would be a lot easier to handle sucking for 48 games and getting a Top 5 pick then a full season, and if we ended up with a Top 5 pick and managed to move up/draft Seth Jones, I think we would really have an incredible core moving forward.

At the same time, with this draft being so deep, even a 11-20 pick could potentially bring a great Dman who would help us out a lot in a year or two.

RW 6'0 205 Adam Erne's Player ProfileErne was one of a handful of players that was just a cut above the rest at Select 17s camp. He has very good offensive abilities and finesse to his game, but also likes to pound opponents with open-ice hits or along the boards. He has a very powerful skating stride so he can create tons of offensive opportunities. He also has a very powerful shot and can simply blow shots by goaltenders. He plays with grit, power, soft hands with vision and pure sniping ability. In one game just blew by the defense wide and purely rocketed a shot low to the far side of the wing. He then scored a second goal of the game by taking a pass in the slot and quickly releasing a deadly, accurate shot. High on NHL teams draft radar.

Anyone else watch the top prospects game last night? Some elite talent on display. Seth Jones was awesome.

He's basically a lock to go 1st or 2nd and at this point I can't see why a team wouldn't take him 1st. It would suck for us to suck this year, but considering he grew up in Denver and is an Avs guy, it would be amazing to draft him.

If I was a team like Columbus, I'd try and grab picks 2 and 3, draft MacKinnon and Drouin. Those two together in the NHL would be dynamite.

Yes! Erne was amazing and would be a great pickl if we're outside of the top 10. (tho there is a good chance he goes inside the top 10 as well)

After looking at all players, thinking who Pracey really likes, and having the 15th overall pick (which seems we have a good chance to be at). I think the player who the Avs really like is Domi, as he fits all the characteristics the Avs draft for and would probably be around that pick. I also hope Avs don't trade their 2nd (second round is loaded with very good talent) because we're going to get two solid players.

What do people think of Marko Dano? I only saw him at the WJC, but he looked pretty good there. When I looked him up it looks like he has played in men's leagues for parts or all of 3 seasons, and this season with the KHL (which he looks to be holding his own). I know the Avs won't pick him, but what do people think of his upside?

We need to keep of picks.

And if we trade O'Reilly, unless we are getting, a Bogosia, a Yandle, ...and if O'Reilly is the best player in the deal..,I want to add picks.

Interest in Ryan Pulock if we draft 10-15?
