Has the cap floor moved at all for this year with the new CBA? I know we were like 4 million shy of it before the lockout. If it hasn't moved DM is going to be a busy boy this week.

I could see them being a tad better than that if things go right though. The roster has some striking similarities to the first Tippet team here, with an even better D group.

5/6 seed is a very good possibility. Not expecting playoff success though.

If we can get Jamison to close the deal and throw some money at us, Maloney will bring in some talent. You see what he tried to when he had resources, he made what was then a "blockbuster" deal to get Jokinen to the desert. He's not afraid of the big trades or signings that we see other teams make and envy, he has been forced to "dumpster dive" per say, and look where he has gotten us. If the sale goes through, it's not the remainder of this season, it's the summer and next season that I'm excited about.

To be honest the main board is like some kind of anarchistic wasteland where people always bad mouth the posters of opposing fan bases no matter how logical their arguements are. Although there are lots of haters bad mouthing us PHX fans, I've noticed that the posters on the main board have a tendency to be extremely hostile towards people they disagree with.

Don't know how much that was weighing on him in the early part of the year (maybe whatever the illness was took a significant amount of time to discover).

I've also noticed that sometimes he has luck in so many directions. Puck hopping over his stick as point on PP units during his first stint with the 'Yotes that lead to breakaways. All the way to the mid-stripe shot that went in on Quick in last year's Finals. Still gives a good effort night-in, night-out...

The cap floor is $44M. CapGeek has us about $5M above that.

Is anyone else expecting OEL to take off this year? Even if it's half, I think he has a chance to put a lot of points on the board.

No! Unless there is something in his contract that allows him to do that, he must report to the team and play if he is not injured or in the doghouse.

I think he ment "score a lot of points" with take off, not leave.

Same difference, as it was a wording error on the post I was responding to.

I was predicting a 20 goal (full) season from him. But then again I tend to be a little on the optimistic side. I do expect that he won't win the Norris for a couple more years. Hope he proves me wrong!

Ah yeah I'd forgotten about the personal issues report last year. But I do remember that it wasnt the first time he'd started slowly, it just lasted a lot longer than usual due to the issues, that's all. He only has to be a solid veteran playing on the bottom pairing though with the ability to step up when needed. Klesla, Michalek, Yandle and OEL have the top 4 spots locked up. Morris is also perfect to pair with the likes of Schlemko, Stone and Summers.

Confirmed what @PaulBetitPPH reported. Bolduc, Miele, Stone and Rundblad will be joining #Coyotes for training camp.

I'm really pulling for Miele. Dudes creativity reminds me of Datsyuk.

I'm a little surprised Chris Brown isn't getting a look. He does need the work in the A but he's already impressed me with his offensive capabilities this early on.

Bolduc would need waivers too... I don't think that's the issue. Treliving has told me that camp is going to be mainly for the guys who will play now and if a player wasn't brought up this time it doesn't mean they aren't still coming up before the season begins.

I'm a little surprised, but this won't be a normal camp. They don't want to call up guys to evaluate them this time. There isn't enough time. These are all guys they think are likely ready to plug in right now. I suppose it's hard to pull a dozen guys like Brown and Summer and leave Portland empty too.

One piece of good news (for everyone but Summers) is that despite how steady Summers looked during his cup of coffee, they apparently think Rundblad has a better shot at a roster spot this season. That could be huge.

I think that has more to do with Summers being trade bait. Schlemko is the comfortable choice for #6, with Stone possibly taking it in camp. Summers is the odd man out, and is at an age where he really needs a shot at the NHL. I could see him moved for a pick or ancillary player.
