That's fair enough, I can't imagine how much it would suck to be a Leafs fan for the last while. It's like being Oilers fans but without the draft and with higher expectations.
While I do feel bad for Leaf fans, I'll admit to a certain amount of schadenfreude from watching TO reporters who laugh at the Oilers for doing a scorched earth rebuild try to spin the Leafs situation as significantly more appealing than ours.

Considering the Oilers stuck with their rebuild plan and now have 4 dynamic players as a direct result. As opposed canceling it after one fustrating year, and then undermining it was an utterly laughable trade that would get any other GM in the league fired for just suggesting it.

I just heard about this on the Bear, think it's pretty great. Will Frasier mentioned it could be that ownership wasn't happy with his stance on not RFA's and his dislike for contracts that circumvent the cap. He could be why we are hearing all these Luongo to TO rumours and nothing has come of it.
I fired a text to Lochlind that said "Jesus couldn't GM the leafs into the playoffs" and he read it on air. I thought that was pretty funny haha.

I am wallowing in the schadenfreude at the moment. This news has made my day 25% better. Especially given that he was likely fired for pushing for or turning down Luongo.

Ha, a couple of years ago I saw that someone had determined that someone in Calgary could fly to Detroit to attend a Wings game for less than the price of a ticket to a Flames game.
